Kevin Nolan Wins Two Successive Monthly Awards

Kevin Nolan, not surprisingly, has spoken of his delight at being voted the PFA Fans’ Championship player for October.

Kevin Nolan 8 goals this season – so far

Kevin landed the Newcastle United Carling Player of the Month prize for September and was this week voted the PFA Fans’ Championship player for October.

Kevin talked to Newcastle United TV after hearing of his latest award:

“Obviously I’m delighted to win individual awards, especially when they’re voted for by the fans.”

“But I couldn’t score the goals and get the headlines without the team effort.”

“That team effort has got us to the top of the league so it’s testament of how we’re working for each other this season.”

“On a personal note, hopefully these awards will be the first of many this season because if that happens it will mean I’m probably scoring goals and the team is winning matches.”

Kevin’s form when he joined us from Bolton last January was mediocre at best, but the lad has come through for Newcastle big time this season, and has probably been Newcastle’s best player, and has already scored 8 goals.

Kevin was born to play for Newcastle, and we say that because of  the emotion he plays with, the 100% effort he always gives the team on the field, and in addition he’s one of best players in the dressing room for team spirit.

And we’ll never forget his first game for Newcastle, against Sunderland no less at home, when he took over the leadership in the pre-game huddle – and was telling his team-mates what they needed to do – before he had ever kicked a ball for the club – now that’s leadership for you. 😀

And it looks like Kevin just loves it at Newcastle, although that’s probably understating what Kevin feels about the Tyneside club and its famous fans.

We’re delighted that Kevin won the award – he deserves it – and we’re even more delighted he now plays for Newcastle United.

Keep it up Kevin!

Chronicle speculating on January incomers…… I wonder if Skjelbred coming in might sweeten the pill of @SJP?

By the way Ed, have a word with whoever sorts out the stats for the main page. Apparently we have been credited with 21 goals in the Premier League this season. I suspect this is wrong!

Off topic like, but that Boris Johnson blokey chases five lasses and gets called a hero. I chase one lass and have to go to court on Tuesday.

@MacToon – I think you will find most of the people on the blog would agree with you there. As for me, after Xmas I shall be naming MA in this year’s dead pool, as I honestly believe sooner or later, given a chance somebody will slot him!

I chased one, married her and got life -with no remission in prospect.

    Murderers get less!
