This blog closed down officially on 10th November, 2009 while Newcastle were 2 points clear at the top of the Championship, and 5 points clear of 3rd placed Cardiff City. The following was the very last post:

I have run this site since April 23rd of 2007, but I am now getting back into the work force on a part time basis and will close this site down.

A large global services consulting company ( not IBM), approached me last week out of the blue, and after meeting with them today, we struck a deal where I have agreed to help them create and deploy a potentially significant global business. It's something I had been successful at doing when I was still with IBM, before I retired.

It's great the lads are top of the Championship, since I didn't feel it was right to close the site down in the summer, after the team was relegated.

It's possible the site will return one day - maybe when we get into the European Champions League, and if that happens we promise to lead with a photo of a bald Fabricio Coloccini.

During the 30 months we were up and running (we was me), we generated just short of 23M hits and created 7,858 posts (articles) that attracted 382,415 comments.

As you know, there are plenty of very good Newcastle United fan sites out there, and I will at least stop getting those ridiculous emails accusing me of all kinds of things - none of which were too complimentary.

Oh well, one does his best.

Thanks,

Dr. Ed Harrison
