Aye Waldo, the way the team plays lumping it up from Harper to Carroll and feeding off scraps doesn't suit Jonas' style. In midfield we don't have technically and tactically gifted players for him to link up with that well. I know Nolan is a good passer but still not got the tactical side down to well when it comes to linking up and using space etc. I feel a midfielder like Fulhams Greening would link up really well with Jonas, Enrique and Coloccini.

Anyways yeah Jonas created quite a few chances last season for our strikers and they just wasted them! You'd be surprised by how many.

We must keep a hold of him. Players of his raw talent and ability are not easy to come by at all and we are lucky to have him here at Newcastle.

However if we were to sell Jonas, we would make even more money on him in the summer as he is a certain starter for Argentina in the World Cup. Selling him in January makes no business sense at all. His value could sky rocket at the World Cup if he has a good tournament.

Jonas is GASH and can't cross....simple.
All he does is play 1/2's with Enrique on the wing...he never beats the last man and bangs in good crosses.

Jonas will come good! After so many promising displays last season and quite a few Man Of the Match performances in the Premier League it is abundantly clear that he has the ability and talent to be a top player.

He just needs to practice his crossing loads and have no fear when it comes to shooting.

Like Fergie and Ryan Giggs say, no matter how old you are, you never stop learning in football. No reason why Jonas can't improve on those two aspects of his game.

As for Coloccini, apart from 1 sluggish moment vs Sheffield Utd, he was absolute class for me. Just Class.

FANS SHOULD GIVE FOREIGN PLAYERS 1 SEASON TO ADAPT AND UNTIL MIDWAY IN THEIR 2ND SEASON BEFORE THROWING THEM TO THE FLOPS PILE.

A big problem with Jonas is the lack of support in most areas, playing and tactical.

1 long balls out of defence so has to mainly feed on scraps
2 no midfielders good enough to use the space that he creates
3 forwards not picking good running lines

Yes I do know he needs a better elevated cross for our big lump forwards but he has created chances and goals. Last year I can remember a couple of great through balls for Owen (turd)
against pompey and stoke, the amount of times he played Martins and Owen in to space for them to waste was scandalous. will be a better player with a better footballing manager (KK when he first came knew how to use him)

With a combined heigh of over 12ft in the box Ranger and Carrol,l if we had wingers beating the last man and launching high balls to them we would be scoring for fun.

I have never rated him...great energy, always looks busy but in the final third of the field there is nothing...I used to play on the wing for my school team and can still cross a ball pretty accurate to head or feet without really thinking about it too much.

Steve Stone summed him up well "Jonas flatters to deceive".

Lets be honest here, who really cares if he goes?

I did spend a lot of time defending him last year becasue of his early promosing displays, tracking back, 100% effort and taking on players etc. That however, seems to be a thing of the past. The effort is perhaps still there in parts but for a supposingly attacking midfielder i can't think of anyone else who offer so little to chances on goal. I actually cant believe how little in fact. Im not a professional but i can guarantee you that i was given the left wing position i would cross at least 1 ball into the box a game, and thats absolute bare minimum! This guy just doesnt seem to want to do it. Ok, so get in the box and shoot!! he seems to be trying this more this season but i realise why he hasnt in the past now. That one against the mighty doncaster (i think it was them) was unreal.

The thing is i actually do like him still and really want him to succeed because hes got so much raw ability, he just doesnt seem to know how to use it. Its like he's 17 and just really eager to impress all the time. Normally you would expect a decent manager or coach to get the best out of them and coach that out of them and let them develop. No comparision but c ronaldo was a headless chicken until fergie got hold of him. Jonas is prob too old for that to happen now and i just think it a bit of shame.

Agreed, P doff. With the current style of play, Newcastle looks like a highly average CCC side.

Let's hope for a more positive approach on Saturday, if we don't try to play football against Peterborough I will be amazed. They should be beaten with a few goals, if not CH should be beaten with a stick!

Require a manager who can grow a pair of gonads, develop a team so that it stop playing 4-5-1 using long ball against inferior teams. This negative formation against teams of inferior quality makes it clear just the sort of quality we have as a manager.
