Newcastle Breakthrough As Danny Simpson Signs Up

Just got back from my doctor’s appointment early this morning, and it’s good to see that Danny Simpson, according to the Evening Chronicle,  has agreed a three and a half year deal with Newcastle at around £10K/week.

Danny Simpson – this is my permanent home now 😀

It says a lot for Danny that he is willing to sign on at the Tyneside club, for what in comparison to other players’ wages is a lowly wage, but hopefully that will rise if we do get promoted this season. The deal was apparently £500K with his former club Manchester United.

Danny has also waxed lyrical about Newcastle, the City and its fans ever since he arrived on Tyneside, and money isn’t everything, after all.

The distinct privilege of playing in front of the best supported football team in England was probably just too much for the 22 year-old to turn down, and the persuasions of Chris and Colin yesterday, obviously worked.

Both coaches will be delighted to secure the services of the former Manchester United player on a permanent basis.

While many fans question Danny’s Premier League capabilities, we would hope that by playing regularly, he can improve and become a solid player for Newcastle over the next few years.

That’s basically what Spanish U21 International Jose Enrique has done, and by sticking in and keeping his head down, we are fairly confident the lad can improve significantly – we hope so anyway.

Certainly the lad’s attitude and spirit are spot on – and he’s just the kind of player we need right now at the club.

Congratulations Danny, and best of luck at the Newcastle United club.

Comments welcome.

According to SSN he’s undergoing a medical. Assuming the knock he took against WBA wasn’t a serious one he should piss it (unless they take that into consideration).

I’d expect an announcement from NUFC tonight or tomorrow.

How things have changed – ManU’s fifth or sixth choice RB signs for us, and we are supposed to be joyful.

Just how far have we fallen? I’m gutted that we are having to scrape around in this transfer window for cheap signings or loans.

    What a mess.

Aw, can it Bill. What do you want – go sign up Messi for a trillion a week??

This is EXACTLY what we need (although I’ll believe it when I see it on .cock) because it helps us lower the risk of losing our promotion spot.

Hire prem players when you’re in the prem. Not before. What’s the point?

Hate to say it, Bill – but I’m starting to think we may not make it into Europe for next season either… 😉

hate to say it, Ed – but Starbucks is right. You have no evidence at all that Simpson has signed up. Not even the press have said so, let alone the club.

Good to see you back, but please make sure the headlines reflect the story and the story reflects something substantial.

bill- i see your point but what do you expect from MA? if we spend more than the club brings in its out of the question. so the fact that we actually brought someone in full time is a surprise to me. my expectations were so low after the last few seasons im happy about this signing. young and talented player can always sell for more than we bought him for. business
