Smith Moving To Blackburn – Don’t Make Me Laugh

There is report in the People newspaper this morning, that Newcastle are considering moving on £60K-a-week captain Alan Smith to Blackburn Rovers, and off their wage bill.

Alan Smith – the spirit of Newcastle United this season

The report says they want to swap him for Blackburn midfielder Keith Andrews, but this is another report in the People that just has to be way off the mark – and in our opinion completely untrue.

Why we would sell the player that has epitomized Newcastle’s turnaround in terms of passion and fight, and who is really the new Newcastle captain – is beyond us – other than it may sell a few papers.

Of course this story may have been made up, probably because it was Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce who signed Smith, from Manchester United, for £6M in 2007.

But Smith is more than happy at Newcastle and nearly all our players have said they don’t want to leave this January and want to finish the job and get the Magpies back to where they belong – in the Premier League.

Expect Chris Hughton to deny this story tomorrow morning.

Another Sunday – another daft story.

Our fatmaster may have different views. 60K a week off the wage bill looks like his kind of deal.

3 draws and a defeat in the last 4 does not look like promotion form and we may be in danger of imploding – Taylor out for 2 months – no replacements coming in – and still 45K turn up to fill up Ashes pockets

Fat Tw*t PLEASE, PLEASE get your check book out now for a Central defender, a Left Back, a creative midfield player & a goalscorer. Even if they are all on loan we need 4 players now or the season could go pear shaped

Although he’s had a better season so far I wouldn’t miss him much and don’t think his pace suits the epl and sometimes not even the CCC.

but if sold would he really be replaced? That is the worry with this owner!

Keith Andrews is not a bad player and not only more mobile that Smudger but probably more likely to get the odd goal.
But Smith is the heartbeat of the team we’ve built this season.
If we do buy another midfielder I’d hope he’d have a bit more creativity than either of them. We’re crying out for it.

Maybe we could get Barton on loan for the rest of the season, I hear he’s nearly fit again 🙂

Wonder who he plays for atm 😆

I love Smudger to death because he is a record breaker. 60K a week and never scored a goal in 70 odd games. That has to be an all time NUFC record for a forward/midfielder.

MacToon – Barton plays for himself (and with himself?), not the team – ask Alan Shearer!

Alan Smith should absolutely be moved on if possible. He is not worth what he is paid.
