Newcastle Sign Fitz Hall On Loan For Rest Of Season

Queens Park Rangers have today confirmed that Newcastle United have signed defender Fitz Hall on loan until the end of the season.

Fitz Hall – on loan at Newcastle

Sky Sports had reported yesterday that the 29-year-old was about to leave Loftus Road, and that has turned out to be true.

Hall was a target for Newcastle manager Chris Hughton last summer, and he has brought the player in, presumably as back four cover at the club, for the rest of the season.

Other clubs were interested in Hall, but Newcastle were in very quickly for the player, and wrapped up the deal, their 5th capture this January.

Fitz comes in along with Danny Simpson (signed), Mike Williamson (signed), Wayne Routledge (signed) and one month loan signing 19 year-old Patrick van Aanholt from Chelsea, who is cover for the injured Jose Enrique.

Not many fans expected this level of activity in January, we didn’t, and remember the club is still in with a chance to get Victor Moses from Crystal Palace, which would really be something.

A win tomorrow at Leicester  City, and the acquisition of James Vaughan from Everton and young Moses from Crystal Palace, and we’d have to get out those blood pressure pills, we’d be so excited. 😀

Comments welcome.

Just where will it all end?

    An attacking MF now?

Certainly been a busy transfer window and looks like the promotion push is well and truely on.

IF (and a big IF) we get either Moses or Vaughan and it should be an exciting finish to the season, can’t believe I’m thinking this!

Tbh I’d be happy for Geremi (ofc) to go along with Smith or Butt, all on huge wages and to think Barton could be back soon too…… wow.

A few good signings by CH in place we need cover etc.

If we can get Moses and Huseklepp id be more than happy.

On a final note…can I get us all to say a HUGE thank you to Steve Bruce.

Doing his 100% best to get the dirty mackems relegated. Even more so by the proposed signing of BENJANI!!!

    How funny…

    @Mactoon

Never say never!! What were Newcastle saying last year? Everyone said we had the strongest squad etc to get out of trouble. It didnt happen.

Steve Bruce is a poor manager, im very surprised they appointed him considering they have a rich owner.

Not that im bothered. Makes for a good final end to the season. We get promoted and we wage goodbye as we pass the dirty mackems along with Matthew Kilgallon who turned us down!! As Mr-T would say “Pity the fool!!”

I think we could sign Moses, Hughton seemed really positive about a deal being agreed. Although he thought that about Beckford. This is easily the best transfer window under Ashley. If we get Moses or another striker/attacking midfielder, I think we’ll have done well.

Always the 6 points available if we are in the same league as them though 🙂

MacToon, you would want to get rid of our most important player in Alan Smith?

    What the?

When he is taken out of the midfield we struggle. He is needed more than ever with our defensive injuries at the present time.

On the signings, wow. Williamson was always going to be very good at this level. He will be what we need in the face of the Taylor injury. Routledge is another we exactly needed. A quick, creative right winger. Yes he is light weight and on some occasions goes missing but his quality at this level will mean we have more chances to score and hopefully that means more chances to win.

Fitz Hall and Patrick van Aanholt add the cover needed for a grueling next few months. Vital cover.

I am pleased so far but we need at least one more attacker and like every other Newcastle fan I am hoping it is Victor Moses. This kid would be an unbelievable signing not just for the next few months but in years to come.

Look forward to a good result against Leicester and a couple more signings.

    Howay the Lads!!

lol @ most important player, Imo he can’t hack the prem and his pace/passing even in the CCC is poor. Yes he had a good start to the season like Nolan but both have gone off the boil. Maybe they need a rest! Poor them.

Great support. You should be proud. Classy.

Go over our games when we didn’t have Alan Smith in our team compared to when we did.

The last two weeks he has played injured, after the Plymouth game he hasn’t been the same but still provides us with the cover needed to ensure our defense remains the best in the league.

Our best lineup has Alan Smith in the middle of the park with the captains armband. Anyone who thinks differently doesn’t watch the game or doesn’t understand football.

Also who is talking about the Premier League? Let’s get out of this league first before we start talking about the Premier League.

No more pearls of wisdom then? OK obviously Smith is the best player we have and forgive me for having a differing opinion, which is obviously wrong as it’s different to yours!
