Hughton Doesn’t Expect Any New Loan Signings

The loan season opens next week, but it’s doubtful if Newcastle will add to their squad.

Chris Hughton – loan signings unlikely

But given Patrick van Aanholt’s performance on Saturday night, maybe we can extend his loan to the end of the season?

That’s unlikely once Jose Enrique is fit again – but Patrick looks an exciting player in the making, and hey – maybe a season long loan for next season?

Chris Hughton this morning says he will give his new players a chance to settle down at Newcastle, before he thinks of any new loan signings.

Chris seems interested in Carlos Vela, the Arsenal striker, but he would be a sixth striker at the club, so how could we give him any decent playing time?

Chris said today:

“I can’t see too much change in the squad between now and the end of the season at the moment,”

“I think we will just have to get a feel for the team now that we have added the new players.”

“It is always open to us.”

Probably the only loan signings we will make will be in the case of picking up some injuries to the squad.

At least it’s an option we still have.

Comments always welcome.

Aanholt extension would be very nice, but don’t see it happening

Anholt could play along with Enrique:

    Harper
    Simpson Taylor Colo Enrique
    Taylor Butt Smith Aanholt
    Nolan
    Carroll

    Pretty exciting looking team !

Based on his first match for us, I’d snap Chelsea’s arm off if they put a good price on the lad.

    Davies

I completely agree, look at Simpson, Manure took £500k for him, thats nowt.

I think Van Aanholt has a massive future ahead of him, BUT, I honestly see him as more of a midfielder than a defender.

after this transfer window i am more confident than at the start that we will go straight up because our defence is much stronger now and we have more pace and width in routledge however i dont know much about best so we will have to wait and see with him but it would be nice to see van aanholt sign on loan till season and maybe a creative midfielder on loan
