Some good new today for Peter Lovenkrands, and it looks like he has a shot at the Denmark Squad for the upcoming World Cup in South Africa.
Peter Lovenkrands – chance of making Danish squad for World Cup
It’s always good to have Newcastle players in big football tournaments, and we’re hoping that our Argentine duo, Fabricio Coloccini and Jonas Gutierrez both make the Argentine squad.
Both players have been performing very well for Newcastle this season, and have gained the support of the Newcastle fans. In particular Coloccini has been consistently solid at the heart of Newcastle’s defense.
In an interview with Danish sports paper Tipsbladet, the assistant Denmark manager Peter Bonde talked about Newcastle’s Peter Løvenkrands as one of the players whose form would be watched closely in the run-up to South Africa.
There’s no doubt Peter has been in great form recently for Newcastle, when he scored 4 goals in two games, even though his father passed away during those games.
Peter’s great hat-trick saw off Plymouth in the FA Cup, when he scored with his head, his left foot and his right foot – just perfect.
And Bonde confirmed maintaining that form – and scoring goals is the most important thing – could see him make the World Cup squad.
“You never know when a player will hit form,”
“If Peter Løvenkrands, as an example, scores three goals every time he plays for Newcastle it is something we can’t overlook.
“It is a sign that a player is on to something – that can change the plans.”
Denmark face Holland, Japan and Cameroon in their group in South Africa.
We really hope Peter can make the Danish squad, and the only way he will do that is that if he starts scoring lots of goals for Newcastle.
Sounds good to us.
