Chris Hughton now has the squad he wants, with it being increased in number and hopefully quality in January.
Fitz Hall – could make debut tonight
So Chris now has to use the squad to the best advantage of the club, and it may be that he’ll give a debut tonight to center-back Fitz Hall, even though Coloccini and Williamson have looked so solid in the last two games.
But it’s all about using the squad with so many games coming up in a short time before the end of the season.
So it would make some sense to blood Fitz tonight, and at least give him a chance to shine, and hope he does well.
The end product has to be to keep our players both fresh and fit during the run-in.
Chris Hughton told the Evening Chronicle today::
“We’ve got seven games over a three-week period.”
“We’re going to need all the bodies to hand that we can, so it is good to have people back.”
“As long as we get the result we want I don’t care how we get it.” “It’s an impressive run and one we want to maintain.”
“We’re getting to the stage when other teams are winning around us, so we need to turn draws into wins.”
As we’ve said many times before it’s not draws that will get us promoted but wins is what’s it’s all about.
Hughton would also like to make the most of our remaining home games, and we have to try to win them all.
“With so many games coming up we have to look at where we are going to get points from, and there is no better team to get them off then Cardiff tonight.”
“With this home crowd behind you it boosts you massively.” “There are a lot of games over a short period so we need to make the most of home games.”
“We always look to win every game but the home games have more emphasis on them.”
We think tonight’s is so important – almost a watershed game – because a draw or loss is exactly what we don’t want and it will be even more points dropped.
We have to hope for a win – and hope it’s the start of another good winning streak.
