Newcastle Keen On Chelsea’s Patrick van Aanholt

Good news today that Newcastle are already planning to extend Patrick van Aanholt’s loan deal from Chelsea.

Patrick van Aanholt – top prospect

The lad has fitted right in at Newcastle, and certainly looks a star player in the making.

The 19 year-old came to Tyneside on a month’s loan, essentially to fill in for injured Spanish left-back Jose Enrique, and the Dutch U-21 International has since put in two solid performances for Newcastle and is obviously a top player in the making.

We are told that Enrique will be out for at least another 3 weeks with a hamstring strain, so van Aanholt will be able to rack up a few games for Newcastle.

And that has to be good for the player and for Chelsea too, since games is what these youngsters need the most to improve and mature their game.

Apparently Newcastle already have an agreement in place to to extend his loan if  Patrick agrees to stay with us.

The 19-year-old spent time at Coventry earlier this season, and appeared 20 times for them in the first half of the season.

Newcastle are said to be thinking about making the move permanent, and that would be even more likely if Newcastle do indeed get promoted this season and Patrick plays a part.

Of course it will be very debatable if Chelsea would let their young player leave, but the London club are well endowed with full-backs – and a decent offer from Newcastle may be accepted, especially if the lad is keen on coming to Tyneside.

Patrick would be a great signing for Newcastle, but alas we doubt Chelsea would be that daft, not yet anyway.

    A decent offer…?

Sorry Ed but any optimism on us making a sensible bid would be difficult seeing how we let the likes of Mr Moses get away from us. he would be a fantastic signing though but I don’t know why he would want to sit on our bench as opposed to Chelski’s?

Admittedy we were very clever in our acquisitions during the window but I REALLY don’t think Leon Best is a suitable alternative even though he was a fraction of winning bid for him in the end.

He’s nowhere near as capable as Moses is now and I don’t think he will ever develop to be as good as Moses is today.

    STILL BITTER!

LB is an area we need to strenghthen and with Enrique (player of the season) rightly a fixture at that position, a young up and coming LB fits the bill.
From the little i’ve seen of the Dutch younster i would be delighted if we could secure him for the season or more. He appears to be more an attacking LB, rather than a defensive one and believe him and Enrique could pay together, say Man U away!

This lad would be a great player, I am pretty sure he has the potential to be on par with Enrique in terms on attacking.

Would love to see this lad come in for longer.

A great acqusition if we could get him. Will Chelsea sell to us though? Anyway we have the Fat Man’s economics to contend with too. If the way we nearly lost Simpson is anything to go by then I can see Anholt slipping away. A pity if that happens – just like Moses and possibly Beckford. If Fat Ashley fart arses about in the Championship what sort of scrooge clowning can we expect in the Premiership?

Seems like a great player and Chelsea also have Bertrand who is also a great left back so may be able to convince them to let him go.

However, Jose has the potential of being one of the best around if he sorts out his decision making and short passing as his combination of strength and pace is unbelievable.

Maybe Aanholt can be used as a left winger as well gving competition to Jonas and Jose.
