Swansea City Will Be A Tough test

OOne of the best interviews given by a Newcastle player after the 3-0 Derby defeat on Tuesday night was by veteran goalkeeper Steve Harper.

Steve Harper – we’ll come back

And Steve has come out again today with an interview he has given to the Newcastle official site.

This is what Steve said today:

“If we can take a positive from Tuesday then it has to be can we use it as a wake-up call?”

“We were on a very good unbeaten run but that doesn’t just carry on because you’re up there at the top – you have to earn it and work for it.”

“Luckily we have another game now just around the corner and Swansea and it goes without saying that we’re demanding a response from everyone.”

“One defeat is not going to stop us; we showed that following the game at Scunthorpe when we were beaten earlier in the season. We were united after that and we have been since.”

“Swansea is a tough place to go but we have to rise to that challenge and come away with a positive result.”

We have another 5 league games before the end of the month, so that’s good and if we can get some good wins in those games, we could still be in decent shape when March comes along.

Now is not the time to have too many hiccups in the league, and Chris and the players have to take just one game at a a time.

However, 5th placed Swansea City will give Newcastle a good test on early Saturday afternoon – and a win is exactly what Newcastle fans will be hoping for – whatever the team has to do to achieve that result.

Howay The Lads!!

saw a spurs fan come out in support of harper to challenge joe hart for an england place….. maybe there are some sensible and considered ones afterall! hehe!

swansea win is essential. i am worried about letting this 12 point lead we once had disappear. remember the mag cover saying “would it happen again” and seems history’s repeated itself. hope we sort it out and go on another unbeaten run.

harps, simp, colo, wills, aanholt, routledge, guthrie, smith, jonas, loven, ameobi/carroll for saturday.

give nolan a rest. guthrie has to play in the middle. i will always remember keegan sayin he could be the new rob lee. i really hope so!
