Fitz Hall has come out today and talked about Newcastle’s promotion chances.
Fitz Hall – we can only look after ourselves
The Queens Park Rangers defender, who is on loan at Newcastle through the end of the season, told the Evening Chronicle today:
“It’s a big boost to be top of the league again.” “That’s where we want to be at the end of the day.”
“We want to look down at everybody else and try to pull away from them.” “If we can get six points it will take us in the direction we want to go in.”
“It’s time to make a push now until the end of the season and we need to start with the home games.”
Fitz has now started the last 3 games, and surprisingly was chosen ahead of Mike Willianmosn last saturday.
Fitz is keen to get Newcastle back on the winning track tomorrow night:
“We’ve got breathing space now in the next two home games.” “We have to push on and look to get three points.”
“Swansea was a tough place to go and get three points.” “But we came away with something and it is certainly a point we can clutch on to and build on.”
Of course Nottingham Forest seem to be going through their own self-destruction losing three of their last four leage games.
Tonight they have a tough home game against Sheffield United, who are now a team in form pushing for a play-off place.
Hall added:
“All we can keep doing is looking after ourselves.” “If we can keep looking down on everybody else then we know we are doing something right.”
“We are just concentrating on ourselves. We’ve gone through a period of three games in quick succession.” “We have two more coming up. We’ll take time to recuperate and then move on.”
Fitz is right on, all Newcastle can do now is their very best in every single remaining game.
There’s 16 games left, and let’s hope on Saturday night, when we’ll have 14 games to go, we’re 6 point better off from the points we have today.
That’ll give us 66 points – not too bad – and we’ll be top of the league still.
Comments welcome.

Comment #1“Fitz Hall has come out today and talked”
Think the players should concentrate on PLAYING football rather than talking.
Its all the same “we need to do this” or “we didnt do that”. Words are cheap, actions speak volumes

No offence to the new lads as they seem to have fitted in ok but all last season it was the same tripe coming from the dressing room and every match they failed to produce……..
same rubbish different season.
Talk with ur feet on the pitch.
Noticed that Hughton’s replying (and others) to alot of questions raised on this and other sites, wonder if they have someone checking them all out and then reporting to NUFC.

Comment #4Perhaps this MA’s ‘hearts and minds’ campaign MacToon? I know if I ran the club I would certainly employ some kind of PR bod to see what public opionion was so I could rectify any wrongs… guess that’s why I am still at least six zero’s short of my first million then?

Comment #5i was thinking that as well mac. especially when hughton was talking about nolan and the talk of resting him.
i think the actual reason is cos the majority of the comments from hughton etc are from the chronicle and journal. so the people from the chron probably just see the comments on their articles on their website and then ask hughton about it. so hughton wont have actually brought up the issue he would have just been asked about it.

Comment #7We heard all this tripe last season and went down. Does it mean we listen to this tripe this season and stay down? We need commitment on the pitch not in the columns of the media. Anybody can talk a good game. So, lets wait and see what the situation is after the final whistle next weekend.

Comment #8Who is this plonker anyway? What’s he done at NUFC to mouth off like a senior pro at the club. Shut up and try to win your place first of all. I worry when the players (especially nobodies) start talking the talk.

Comment #9I sincerely hope nobody from the club does read this blog or they will feel like packing it in from all the unfair stick they get from the idiots posting comments on here .
Of course Hall has come out with the same old platitudes – what do you expect? Players have to give interviews as part of their job; what do you expect him to talk about – gardening??
Bloody morons on here who aren’t happy unless they’ve got a gripe against the team they claim to support.

Comment #11I can’t believe the reactions on here, people just like to complain don’t they?
What exactly is wrong with a player showing a bit of passion and wanting to do well at the club?
You’re all idiots.
