Gutierrez And Williamson Start – Smith Rested

Chris Hughton makes just two changes to the side which drew at Swansea on Saturday.

Jonas Gutierrez thankfully, has won his fitness race for the visit of the Sky Blues and returns on the left wing.

And surprisingly Alan Smith is left out of the starting eleven and Kevin Nolan will wear the armband.

OK – so Chris didn’t take our advice and rest Kevin – so he must be going to score tonight – that’s obvious.

And as we had expected Mike Williamson replace Fitz Hall at centre-back.

Patrick van Aanholt is playing against the side he was on loan at earlier in the season, when he appeared 20 times for the Coventry City side.

It looks like Nolan and Guthrie will be in central midfield, and it will be important these two play well tonight.

Nile Ranger and Leon Best are both on the bench and will probably be used in the second half.

It’s not too bad a team.

Ed Smith been rested?…he has just come back from injury….i think its because we are at home don’t need that midfielder playing as a 3rd centre back.

Coventry are not a good team, their best player Gunnarson is on the bench cus of injury and their 2nd best player this season is on our bench.

They beat Forest yes, but i was at that game and both teams were bad as each other. The only good thing from Coventrys point of view was McPake (??) kept Blacksotck quiet, but oh hes injured :D.

Wow thats an attacking team from CH, I like it. Both central midfielders are attack-minded, unlike smith and butt (thank god that latter has gone awol)

I would have started Best instead of Lovenkrands as the Dane has done well as an impact sub, however I hope he invidicates his selection with some goals to prove me wrong!

Looks like a good team actually.
But the only thing is that i would of started best in front of lovenkrands, best would be up for the game more because hes against his old club + Lovenkrands works well as coming on as an impact sub, best and carroll have a good understanding, not so sure bout loven and carroll

    Hi Ed,
You going for the record today, eh?
Seven groovy stories altready and it’s still a quarter of an our ’til kick-off!
I predict an Arsenal win in the chumps league and Newcastle and Palace to win in the Fiz for the treble.

Hmm, guess Smith`s carrying a knock, otherwise can`t see Guthrie replacing him.
And rather see Best up front with Lovenkrands,
but has to be one or the other, dont see Best and Carroll as a pairing.\
    Ah well, lets see !
