It seems like our new signing Wayne Routledge is getting used to living life in that football crazy City called Newcastle Upon Tyne.
Wayne Hughton – loving life on Tyneside
Wayne was delighted to sign for the Newcastle club, and like other players, he knew all about the passionate football fans on Tyneside.
Wayne has talked to the official Newcastle site, on what it’s like living and playing in Newcastle:
“We’re at home again on Saturday and we can’t wait,” “I’ve played at St.James’ three times now and have loved every minute of it.”
“I knew before I signed what a special place St. James’ Park was but to be part of the Newcastle side playing there is amazing.”
“From the first time I stepped out on St.James’ Park I got an unbelievable reception and it’s nice to get that recognition.”
“Even when I walk around town the fans are great and it’s nice when that happens.” “I just hope that come Saturday tea-time we’re both celebrating another win.”
“We’re full of confidence going into the game and I’m looking forward to my first 3 o’clock start at home.”
Wayne’s right there – that the most important thing today is to take all 3 points in a game against Preston North End this afternoon.
We have to be favored for the win, after scoring 9 goals in our last 2 home games.
But nothing at Newcastle can ever be taken for granted, so we cannot take today’s game lightly at all.
It’s a chance to get all 3 points this afternoon against a mid-table side, and keep our promotion drive moving fast forward.
3 points this afternoon would be great – just great. 😀
