Full Newcastle United Injury Update

Newcastle will play at Watford on Saturday, and manager Chris Hughton has talked about the Newcastle injuries.

Peter Lovenkrands – no update on Danish striker – yet!

It looks like midfielder Nicky Butt may be back in the squad for Saturday’s test at Watford as Chris said today:

“Shola Ameobi won’t be back, sadly.”  “But we’re hoping Butty will train this week.”

“Whether that will be too soon for Watford, I don’t know.”

“Joey Barton has been training, and it’s just whether we can get him a reserve game or two.”

Shola Ameobi reminds us a lot of Emile Heskey, as he misses so many games with niggly little injuries.

And it seems like Jose Enrique will have a chance – a small chance – of being in the squad, but Wayne Routledge, who surprisingly missed the win over Preston with a calf  injury, is still doubtful – so that’s not good news.

But we haven’t seen any news yet on Peter Lovenkrands’ injury, and have to hope it will not keep him out of the squad for too long.

Peter’s goals will be important for the side during the run-in.

Comments welcome.

Peter has been on fire lately. Lets hope his injury doesn’t last too long.

What a shame that more of the bottom clubs didnt manage to leapfrog the Mackems.

Nevermind they have a few more games to do so yet. I can’t see Sunderland beating Fulham if current form is to go by.

I dont think Routledge missing at Watford is such a bad thing as we will probably have to spoil for a win with Guthrie, Smith and Nolan in the midfield.
Good news to see Barton a few weeks away.

If Peter isn`t back then Ranger should start in front of Best even though i would like to see an Irish man get on the field and score i reckon we get a lot more with Ranger.
He has loads more speed than Best and Andy and gives us something else.

It’s good to see them suffering but I really miss a proper local derby. Would enjoy seeing phil brown relegated tho

Yes thank god butt will be back. I am thinking Loven will be out for at least two more weeks but hopefuly this will give Best a run of games so we can get him scoring. Its a shame to hear that he does not play well with carroll with the two of them being too similar. We need another quick pacy striker in the mold of Loven who is young and we can start getting on.

Do we have any little fast guys or are they all 7 foot giants? lol

Why does everyone want Barton back, he’s useless, slow & hasn’t done anything I’ve seen to merit getting back into the 1st team!!!
I know Smith & Nolan have tired of late & gutheri is on fire in MF but thats no reason to call back Barton after being out for 4 months with a broken toes nail, he’s a thug & will get sent off within a game or 2, he can’t help it!!!
