Results went Newcastle’s way on Saturday, as for the second time in two games Newcastle gained a full 3 points on one of their automatic promotion challengers.
Chris Hughton – big win at Watford
Chris Hughton was interviewed following the game at Watford that Newcastle won fairly comfortably 2-1, and was asked if he thought Saturday’s’ result was a turning point:
“I hope so,” “We’ve been very good at home and what we need to add is the results we can pick up away from home.”
“We’ve had a few good ones but this was a big win because it was always going to be a real tough one.”
“Watford are a good side and I expect them to be very much in the mix come the end of the season.”
“They’re very good at Vicarage Road, it’s a difficult pitch to play on and I thought we showed very good character to come through.”
Newcastle are in good form at home and face Barnsley this coming Saturday afternoon.
But the lads seem to be taking nothing for granted ,and having completed 33 games of the season, and with only 13 games to go, we should not fail during the final 30% of what’s been a tough season.
Let’s try to win every single one of those last 13 games – that’s the spirit.
Howay The Lads!!
