We Were Never Worried About Away Form – Nolan

There has been a lot written about Newcastle’s away form, when we went 7 away games without a win, until we won at Watford on Saturday.

Kevin Nolan – we were never worried

But Kevin Nolan said today that the Newcastle players were never too much worried about their away form.

Nolan told the Newcastle Journal this morning:

“Everyone is always battering on about it, but we have not thought about it.” “I know that is a bit weird, because our home form has been really good.”

“To go away from home in this league, there is going to be a full crowd, it is going to be intense and to get four draws and only lose one in the last five is not bad.”

“To finally get the win is nice and it breeds a bit more confidence, but fair play to them – they gave as good as they got. It was a well-contested game and fortunately we came out on top.”

It was important to get the win because our home form has been so good, that we must have a good chance of picking up lots of home points in our final 6 home games of the season.

If we can get to 90 points it seems certain we’ll get an automatic promotion spot, and that now means getting 21 points from the final 13 game of the season, and that certainly seems possible.
