Two Goal Carroll Continues To Look The Part For Newcastle

Andy Carroll and Peter Lovenkrands are now joint top of the Newcastle scoring charts on 14, just one goal more than previous leader, Kevin Nolan.

Andy Carroll – a brace last night

But Kevin scored a goal in the first half last night,  which looked a good goal but it was disallowed, presumably for offside, but he wasn’t.

Andy’s two goals put him on 14 goals so far this season, and there’s no doubt  that Carroll has made enormous strides this season, and looks more and more the part,  leading the Newcastle attack.

After the game Andy talked to Newcastle United TV:

“I haven’t been top yet this season so that’s a good feeling because as a striker you’re all about goals,”

“That might sound selfish but if strikers are scoring then the chances are the team is winning so I’m happy with that.”

Carroll’s first goal was a bullet header from Danny Guthrie’s right wing corner after 10 minutes, and his second was a beautiful goal set up by a terrific  through ball from the impressive Danny Guthrie, who himself is starting to look the part in Newcastle’s central midfield.

Andy continued:

“For the first goal I lost my man and it was a great ball from Danny,” “I was left with a free header and I put it back across goal into the bottom corner.”

“Danny delivers those sorts of balls in training for me all of the time so it’s pleasing when that comes off in a game.”

“It was the same for the second with Danny’s through ball. I pulled off the man and he picked me out perfectly.”

“I just saw the keeper rushing out and I knew I couldn’t hit it straight at him. The only option was over him and thankfully the chip went in.”

“I was delighted to get two but it could have been more.” “We tore them open during the first half and it was a little disappointing we didn’t get more goals.”

“But we got the three points and that’s the most important thing and I thought we did well.”

But our players cannot get carried away with things – that’s only allowed for people like me who write about the lads. 😀

They’re doing just great, but must keep it up for the rest of the season, and we’re sure they will.

Well considering I am on a military base in Japan and havent been able to watch a game yet I wont comment on Carroll but instead I will speculate like most of our dreamers.

I just read Taarabet or somin close has given up on playing in England and wants a move to spain and with one year left on his contract after this year will want a transfer in the summer away from the TOTs. He doesnt like the style of football of some of the teams in england and seems down. Well, if he thinks he is good enough to play in the top teams in Spain surely he would be able to break into our side and help us play the way he likes (attacking and free flowing).

I think he just needs a little talking to and someone to turn his head and make him realize the opportunity he would have at Newcastle a team with a great spirit as of now with great fans that love a proper attacking game.

    sorry for the random thoughts

By the way Barton can get out I dont need any of his interviews if he doesnt prove he is dominate by the end of the year then get him out and his wages.
