Hughton Impressed With Joey Barton In Training

JoeJoey Barton, the 27-year-old former Manchester City player seems to have forced himself into the Newcastle squad, because of his efforts on the training pitch.

Joey Barton – impressive in training

Newcastle manager Chris Hughton has as much said so today, when he talked about Joey Barton training very well.

Of course Joey has been back in training for a while now, but he still lacks match practice,  after recovering from surgery last October, to repair a broken bone in his foot.

Joey seems to be doing well in training as Chris Hughton said today:

“He has been training and training very well,”

“He hasn’t played so much football, he has played half a game in a training ground game and 75 minutes of a reserve fixture at Hartlepool.”

“But he has been training very well for the last month and consequently has found himself in the squad.”

Joey has given quite a few interviews over the last week, and the lad is desperate to get back into the side and help Newcastle United clinch that automatic promotion spot.

We wouldn’t be at all surprised if Joey makes an appearance in the second half tomorrow night at Doncaster, in what promises to be another very tough away game for Newcastle.

With still 9 league games to play, Joey may well get his chance to impress and help the Newcastle club finally get promoted – we hope so anyway.

Comments welcome.

If my maths are correct a win at Doncaster would secure at least a play-off place for the Toon. Would be nice to at least get that one under our belts. Adds a little spice to the fixture !!

Hope Barton can handle our team being team and not a team of individuals.

I wonder if Chris left him out the squad longer to make him sweat a little, because if he screws up again, and he is fit, then he will have to play the next two years in the reserves! Really hope he shows us hat he is definitely capable of.

    Its in the Daily Mail…

If its true and Andy Carroll started it then he IS a very loose cannon and needs to get a grip!!

If its about wages etc then Carroll should shut his mouth, Taylors been a first team regular for at least 5 years now…

    @ Toonie

Aye carroll’s abit of a fool like, got the prospect of becoming a hero up here and he is shooting himself in the foot!

Someone like Nicky Butt or Harps should have a proper 1 to 1 with him. Get him to sort himself out or end up like Joey Barton

if this is true then carroll can pack his bags and get lost who does this guy think he is????? taylor has been a regular in the side for 3 seasons, I knew it was too quiet to be true at SJP we were bound to f**k it up at some point just cant believe its 9 games from the end of the season…GREAT well done Andy

    @thud and blunder
Totally agree. Sounds like Carrol is a bit of a ‘Hot Head” and cant take a tease. Taylor has never been a trouble maker, so can only assume Andy is to blame. Either way, this will not do his court case any good…could even do time.

    @big bob

Not sure about sacking him like but he should get a hefty fine….

Carrolls gotta earn his future contracts, hes still a youngster in footballing terms. can you imagine him doing that at Man Utd or Chelsea where the players wages are astronomical. Him kicking up a fuss because he is paid enough or whatever

Im starting to lose patience with andy carroll…

there’s only one thing to do. He has to go!

he’s a good prospect but no one is bigger than the club. Fine him and then cashin in the summer.

Taylor should be our captain anyway, so for Carroll to hit a senior figure is crazy.

Its only speculation right now but it does sound like a typical newcastle scenario.

Let’s not get too carried away. Carroll will have to learn the hard way it seems – some people do. The best thing that could happen here is that Leon Best gets a chance to start as Carroll has injured himself, and scores a boatload of goals. This will make AC realise he is not an automatic choice and has to do things right to stay in contention. If as reported it was about the fact he only gets £10k a week as opposed to Tayls’ £30k a week they should both be ashemed of themselves. Tayls made a fuss about his relatively low pay last year didn’t he? My heart bleeds for both poverty-stricken children.

This Carroll guy is causing a distress in the dressing room.

Barton was better in a way that he haven beat up any of the Newcastle players yet. Except for some spat with the two Agies.

What do you think will happen if Sir Alex Ferguson was in-charge?

    1) Carroll will be fine and suspend! Even if in the expense of the match.

    2) Keep Carroll in the lineup and deal with him later (after Newcastle surcure promotion)

    3) Fine him and keep him in the team, and deal with him after Newcastle surcure promotion.

**Newcastle Utd should sue the papers.**

And the papers will be more caution when writing this kind of negitive news about us next time.

hopefully Newcastle will release a statement this morning and clear some things up, if it is true then carrol needs to grow up, for christ sake i work with people that do the same job as me and they earn more money than me but i don’t go round giving them a good kicking for it, i use it as a bargaining tool for when my contract comes up

There is a very bad news that R.Taylor had quarrel with our leading scorer, Andy Carroll. The news reported that both of them are injured and Andy cannot play tonight. It is really a shocking news for our promotion fight if the news is true !

I’m expecting a “Training Ground Accident” statement and hopefully it is true. I’d hate to think $10,000 a week was not enough for a player having his first good season. The lad can only be weeks away from being offered a new contract anyway!

News is everywhere. First of few negative news we have listened after relegation. Andy is already in court for other case. Can’t he learn and grow up. Don’t he know that you always show some respect to your seniors.

Club should not look at this lightly. I would even go as far as terminating his contract and relieving him on FREE rather than waiting till end of season. Agreed we might lose couple millions. But this will set example among players and anyone who joins us in future.
