It will be interesting to see if 21 year-old Newcastle striker Andy Carroll lines up for tonight’s game at Doncaster Rovers.
Steven Taylor – in Newcastle General Hospital trauma ward
But it’s probably wise that manager Chris Hughton is saying absolutely nothing, before he announces his line up at about 7:00pm local time tonight.
The respected Sky News has this afternoon added a few more presumed facts to the confrontation between the two Newcastle players, that occurred on Sunday morning at the Benton training grounds.
Sky Sports is reporting today that Andy Carroll has already had an operation on his hand, and that the confrontation was concerning one of Carroll’s former girlfriends, who was texting messages to Steven Taylor that Sunday morning.
Since the players are both young and still a bit daft, we would want to excuse them (the fools), but this is a serious situation now and Newcastle fans could be further infuriated if Andy Carroll misses the game tonight with a hand injury. But maybe he will be suspended by the club, who knows?.
And we have to think that Derek LLambias and Mike Ashley, not to mention poor Chris Hughton the manager, are just furious with these events, which are exactly what the club does not need right now.
24 year-old Steven Taylor, who was born in Greenwich but brought up in Whitley Bay by Geordie parents ever since he was a couple of weeks old, is said to be in stable condition in the orthopaedic trauma ward at the Newcastle General Hospital.
What makes this worse is that both players have been brought up in the region, with Andy born and brought up in the Gateshead area, and have therefore been Newcastle United fans all their lives, and both were even former ball boys at the club.
Newcastle United had better now win the game tonight at Doncaster Rovers, which will hardly be easy, but that will help lift the spirits of the loyal Newcastle fans, who have again been let down badly.
The best supported club in the land should be going all out to win the game at Doncaster tonight, as if their lives depended on it, after this complete nonsense.
