Newcastle Fans – Please Turn Out On Monday Night

Newcastle have their most important game of the season on Monday night against 3rd placed Nottingham Forest.

Chris Hughton – a win on Monday night and he’s almost there

Newcastle are currently 10 points ahead of Nottingham Forest with a game in hand, and after Monday night Forest will have just 6 games to play and 18 points to add to their points  total for the season.

If Newcastle win the game they will have 83 points and Forest will only be able to get 88 points, if they win all their remaining games.

So Newcastle will need 5 points in their remaining 7 games to guarantee promotion.

So a win on Monday night will be virtual promotion.

Notice promotion will also happen if Nottingham Forest drop just 5 points in their remaining 6 games of the season, given Newcastle win on Monday night.

Of course after Monday night the lads still need to get 7 wins in their last 7 games- that’s obvious – and there can be no letting up at all – not one little bit.

We still need to beat WBA  to the Championship title.

Steve Harper wants a full house on Monday night, and with a win, the fans will be able to celebrate big time.

This is what Steve said this morning:

“It would be great to get a full house and get everyone roaring behind us, get the lads coming out of the blocks quickly and really go for Forest,”

“If we were to lose that game it would be game-on a little bit, looking over our shoulders somewhat.

“But if we can get that 50,000 or a fullhouse and come out and really go for it and win the game it would be a special night, which the fans would remember for a long time.”

Newcastle will be able to field a very strong side with Peter Lovenkrands, Mike Williamson and Alan Smith all available for that game.

We expect the following attacking starting eleven on Monday night:

Harper
Simpson
Coloccini Williamson Enrique
Routledge Nolan Guthrie Gutierrez
Carroll
Lovenkrands

That’s about the most attacking side that Newcastle can field and it should be a great game.

A very good time for Newcastle fans to attend the game, and with a win – some celebration would be in order.

The fans can reflect on how far this club has come since last July, when all was miserable and murky, and the press was having a field day in kicking the famous club, when it was down.

Not any longer, and the progress has been fantastic,  thanks to Chris Hughton, the coaching staff and the loyal players still at the club.

They’ve been just great!

Howay The Lads!!

That side picks itself these days.,, shola back too!? Like to see him finish the season on a high – poor sod – after getting us going with his early goals this season, lest we forget.

I would keep Kadar in the line up, he deserves it.

Meanwhile there’s nowt to celebrate if we win until we hit the ‘mathematically promoted’ tape (hopefully over Easter), even then keep it to a swift half and some pork scratchings & save your money until we hit the ‘mathematically top’ tape.

Promotion will taste so much sweeter with a trophy in the cabinet. Going up or going up as champions, call me old fashioned but YES it does matter! This club needs to lay the ghost of coming second, and finishing runners up to WBA is not the way to start this new decade after so much good work. Success will resonate around the whole club and lay a fine foundation for next season.

Sad to say but another player I remember and saw play a few times has died. Though never destined to be one of our greats George Luke did keep Bobby Mitchell out of the side for a while. My sincere condolences to his family. A pity he is no longer here to see us get back to the Premier in May.

An attacking line up that we need against Forest to be sure. I also like what you say boater – I still think Shola has something to offer the team. Howay the lads.

When i was getting my ticket a week ago there was very little left to choose from so im guessin it wont be far off 50,000.

If we beat Forest we will be 13 points clear off them whilst they have 6 games left (18 points)…so would be two wins off maximum promotion with 7 games left.

Still loads of tickets left…..looks like mid 40k’s at the moment but I’d expect most of them to go over the weekend.
I’m hoping we’ll beat Forest monday then the following Saturday we beat Peterboro and Forest lose to Bristol City that would be us up.HWTL

I agree with beefheart. Kadar has been playing extremely well lately and if he cant get a spot when he has proved himself capable how do you think that will affect him?

AM I THE ONLY CAPITALIST IN HERE?

but, looks like a good squad.

I’ll be there and I shall be taking the flags. I hope there is a good crowd who are prepared to make a load of noise and that there are lots of spiderman masks too.

So far there are quite a few number of seats left, but hopefully a lot of these will go before Monday.

    Howay the Lads.

(Sav – I’m sure the foreign lads in the team, knows what this means by now. (Ha ha ha ha).

I don’t agree that that is the most attacking team we can field. Sorry to be picky but Steven Taylor is more attacking than Mike Williamson! 🙂

This is a must win game. If we can’t win this one, then we’ll struggle in prem without investment.

Ill be there on Monday night. Aint got a ticket mind, so hope there some left on Sat morn. 🙂

I think we’ll win Monday but the only team that its a must win for is forest.we’ll go up regardless but if they don’t beat us then they’ve no chance of catching us(imo). It would be great if we beat them tho as it would then be possible to be promoted next Saturday if we beat Peterboro and Forest lose at Bristol C.HWTL
