Butt And Harper Agree Tonight’s Game Just Massive

Both captain Nicky Butt and goalkeeper Steve Harper, two of our most experienced players both agree that tonight is a massive game for Newcastle United against 3rd placed Nottingham Forest.

Nicky Butt – massive game for Newcastle club tonight

The two very experienced players spoke to Newcastle United TV today on the game that has Newcastle fans hoping that all 3 points will propel the club closer to promotion.

Nicky said today:

“Forest still have a chance to go up and they won’t have given up yet,””This is a massive game for both sides and the outcome will be hugely significant in who goes up.”

“We’re going into it on the back of Doncaster which was a great win when we had to show real team spirit.”

“That has given us another lift and whenever we play at home we’re always confident and happy to take on anyone.”

And goalkeeper Steve Harper, who will be hoping to keep his 20th clean sheet of the season tonight in the league, also talked about the massive game tonight against Nottingham Forest:

“If we could win this one it would be huge.” “We’d be 13 points clear and they would have just six games left and that would be massive.””It’s our biggest game so far because we know what a win could potentially mean.”

“But they’re on a good run and it will be a tough game. They’ve bounced back from a bit of a blip to stay in touch with their home form and it won’t be easy.”

“But we’re sure to have a big crowd roaring us on and we can’t wait for it to start.”

Steve Harper will appear for the 39th successive time in the league tonight for Newcastle, but we’re not sure Nicky Butt will keep his place, although he played well at Doncaster.

However Newcastle manager Hughton may want either Nicky Butt  or Alan Smith in central defensive midfield, to ensure some solidity at the back tonight.

marco polo’s for a nice meal washed down with a bottle of red wine….3 or 4 beers in the strawberry…watch forest get ploated followed by a couple more beers before finishing the night in aspers.

    …very nice.

Remember Forest are running out of games so NEED to win, we do not – a draw will be just fine for us tonight. It will still be effectively a three pointer as we would deprive Forest of 2 crucial catch up points while we gain 1 to maintain the gap.

I suspect CH might well take this into account in his tactics, so I don’t expect a headlong rush for goals. We might shade it by one, or it will be all square – either way job done.
