Newcastle Squad Has Achieved So Much This Season

Three points from the Championship game tonight against Nottingham Forest will all but guarantee Newcastle promotion back to the Premier League next season.

Peter Lovenkrands – we’ve been digging in hard

And today, Newcastle star striker peter Lovenkrands has talked about what the Newcastle squad has achieved so far this season, as he told the Evening Chronicle today:

“To think we’d be in the situation we are now was probably a bit unreal at one stage.”

“We can only be pleased and proud of ourselves.” “We’ve been digging in hard and getting some great results.”

“Now we know if we can keep that up, we’re almost there.”

Lovenkrands is in form and has scored 6 goals in his last 5 games, and along with Andy Carroll, the Newcastle strike force are  are just red-hot at the moment.

The former Glasgow Rangers star Lovenkrands has also reflected on how long and difficult it was during the summer to sign on at Newcastle.

The club allowed Peter’s short term six month contract to run out at the end of June, but then came to their senses to sing Peter on September 1st and peter has been one fo the stars of the side this year..

Peter continued:

“It was a horrible time, waiting and waiting to find out what was going to happen.”

“It was pleasing to be with my family, but really hard as well.”

It turns out that a few Newcastle players are close to 10 yellow cards for the season, and that means a mandatory 2 match ban.

Alan Smith has 9 yellows, Nolan has 8 and Andy  Carroll has 7 cautions on the season so far.

We have to hope they’ll behave themselves in the next few games, because we’ll need all three playing in as many games as possible through the end of the season.

There can be no let up.

    Carroll for England?

Don’t be silly Cappello will never play any of the peasants from the lower divisions. He’d rather take Heskey.

Harper & Carroll are 2 who could do a job at the world cup.

Carroll is a more Physical player than Heskey, Better in the Air & Most important can put the ball in the back of the net.

harper fo england yes, but carroll is still too raw. i rather pick crouch (i think is better than hesky btw) as he is proven international scorer.

I hope that Lovenkrands can take his current game up to the PL level next season.. He has been on a different level this season.

And when comes the day we axe Nicky Butt who truly deserves to move on from my beloved club.

and I beg for a playmakin midfielder!

Shoot me! Im worried about next season in the Prem instead of enjoying the current one….. can’t help it..

england like a wildcard going back to owen, rooney, and even hurst.

of course crouch is the no.1 target man but if they’re after something raw – as you put it – then he could be red-hot form man – and an unknown quantity. mebbes I’m grasping at straws but so few decent alternatives in the reckoning with C cole in bad shape, defoe injured etc.
