Newcastle In Top Four Or Five Clubs In England

Mike Williamson looks to have become an instant success on Tyneside, so it’s interesting to hear what Mike says about actually playing and living in Newcastle.

Mike Williamson – Newcastle in top four or five in country

Mike talked about playing for a a famous football club like Newcastle United, where football passion has always reigned supreme:

“The first thing you realise is, when you just walk around the city, how many shirts you see and the level of passion towards the club from the people who live up here.”

“I have not been up here that long, but you get that feeling from everyone you speak to. The stadium itself is on another level.”

“Through my years of playing football and seeing Newcastle achieve what they have achieved over the years, I have always regarded Newcastle in the top four or five in the country.”

“I have always admired from afar, but when you come here you get the true impact of the size of the club and just what it means to all of the general public around it.”

“That is a good feeling to know you can make such a difference to peoples lives around the country.” “When the team is doing well the city is buzzing, it is such high emotion.”

Mike you should make that “make such a difference to peoples lives around the world“, because there are many many fans supporting the Magpies all over the world, just like we are here in the United States.

It’s one reason we created this blog, for Newcastle fans away from home base like ourselves.

Not many fans would say we are in the top five clubs in England right now, but we’ll at least get back to the Premier League next season, and then almost every game will be available on TV for fans to see around the world.

And after watching the Burnley vs Blackburn game yesterday, surely we could beat either of those two sides right now – they looked hopeless.

But then we watched the Liverpool vs Sunderland game and were reminded that in Liverpool, who were in form for a change, just how good some teams are in the Premiership.

It’s  just a good thing for Sunderland that Liverpool settled for only 3-0,  because it could have been so much worse for our local neighbors yesterday.

And finally, who would ever want to mark a certain Fernando Torres?

What a player, and he’s a joy to watch – but those are the players Mike Williamson and others at Newcastle will be marking next season – and we cannot wait!.

Fernando is so good that he could even wear the number 9 shirt at Newcastle. 😀

But Mike Williamson should be able to get his wish, and play in the best football league in the world.

Actually Ed we have seen more NUFC matches live this season than last, maybe ever, I would guess around 50% of league games shown live.

I don’t understand why the club don’t have their own TV station liek Chelski, Cessepool & Manc Usa, it would be a godsend fro us fans living outside the TOON as it’s hard to stream live matches, I only get to listen to most of them on NewcastleWorld via the official website…

So come on Mr Ashley, if you want to earn more money out the club, gets us our own TOON TV!!!
