Joe Enrique is a popular player in the dressing room and he’s extremely popular with Newcastle’s dedicated fans.
Jose Enrique – he’s the one right on the bottom
So when Jose Enrique scored his very first goal for the club on 91 minutes last night, beautifully set up by Shola Ameobi, all the players piled on top of Jose.
And Chris’ celebration was also something to see, as some of the pressure on the manager was lifted, as he knew Newcastle had captured a fantastic win in front of their own loyal supporters.
Chris said today:
“The lads’ celebration just goes to show the period of the game it was because it took them a lot longer to get off the pile than it did to jump on.”
“But what that showed was a group of lads working hard for each other and they were delighted to see Jose score his first goal – they’ve got a real bond there and the celebration showed that.”
“For myself, my celebration showed how much the win meant and the fans reacted in the same manner.”
“This was a massive win and one we should enjoy for now, even though there is still work to be done.”
We’re waiting to hear what Jose has to say about his goal, which was hit with his right foot, believe it or not.
And Shola Ameobi must have read the article on this blog yesterday saying he should be sold in the summer, because he was the difference last night, with a great individual goal after 71 minutes , and then a nice back heel to set up Jose for his last minute goal.
We like to help when we can. 😀
Shola looked sharp last night, that’s for sure.

Comment #1That dog-pile celebration by the team was awesome!
Funny that Jonas stuck some grass into Jose’s mouth 🙂

Comment #2Lest we forget, the whole season was built on Shola’s goals and upfront power before he was injured. If he had stayed fit I suspect he would be on 25 goals or more by now.

Comment #3love that celebration, such a shame carroll got injured, i feared the worst when he went off as he is very good in his defensive play as well as his goal scoring threat, but i am delighted with shola’s work ethic last night. he closed down, defended from the front well. and jose’s goal was pure class, it was like arbeloa’s goal for madrid the neet before but better.
JOSE FOR SPAIN….. or its only a couple of years before he could play for england if im right in thinking??

Comment #4Is It just me or have the discontented natives in Level 7 given up their chants about our rotund cockney owner? Have they forgiven him now promotion is in sight or has the letter warning of price rises to season tickets had the desired effect? I think its the latter.

Comment #5Toontown a successful football club is run from top to bottom,every1 in the club deserves credit for the club to bounce straight back up mate and that includes the owner, don’t knock the boat mate.
