Newcastle Make 5 Changes For Tonight’s Game

After resting many of his top players on Saturday afternoon, Chris Hughton has recalled Guthrie, Routledge, Gutierrez, Carroll and Lovenkrands to the side for tonight’s crucial game against Sheffiled United.

And in fact it’s the same side that last turned out at St. James’ Park, when the lads beat Nottingham, Forest 2-0 a week ago tonight.

That means there are 5 changes made to the side with Danny Guthrie starting alongside Kevin Nolan in central midfield, and Carroll and Lovenkrands up front as the main two strikers.

We also see the return of our first choice wingers in Routledge and Gutierrez, who have both been in outstanding form of late.

Newcastle need just a draw tonight to guarantee their promotion back to the Premiership, and Newcastle could be promoted even before the game kicks off tonight.

The score at the City Ground between Forest and Cardiff is still 0-0 with 2 minutes to play, and if Forest don’t win then Newcastle are automatically promoted.

Howay The Lads!!

Too bad we have no room for youngsters (with the one exeption in Kadar) in a team that promotes themselves as a youth policy team…
