Newcastle Got Promoted Because They’ve Got Balls

Sheffield United Manager Kevin Blackwell thought Newcastle were very deserving of promotion back to the Premiership.

Kevin Blackwell –  Newcastle deserved promotion

Blackwell took Leeds United very close to a return to the Premiership, following their relegation from the Premiership a few years back.

Kevin chose some interesting language to describe why he thought Newcastle deserved promotion.

Kevin said after Newcastle’s 2-1 win over Sheffield United last night:

“I can’t give them enough credit,” “They have shown real character and desire to get back in the Premier League.”

“If you’ve not got balls then you won’t get out of this division. Newcastle have shown they’ve got balls. They deserve to be in the Premier League and it’s a terrific achievement.

“The fans, the stadium, everything about the club deserves Premier League football.”

“So, to Chris Hughton and Colin Calderwood, I’ve got to say congratulations.”

“I look at what happened at Leeds and Newcastle and people say you have a divine right to be in the Premier League.”

“That may be true, but what Newcastle have done is they have kept a core of players here.”

“It is a terrific achievement by Chris and his team.”  “They have got to invest in the Premier League because they will still be one of the glamour sides, but Chris has shown he can manage a big club like Newcastle.”

“He has come up the hard way and he deserves a shot at it.”

And talking about Leeds United, they are starting to struggle a little in League One and are in 4th place, 2 points out of an automatic promotion spot, after suffering a 3-0 home defeat on Saturday by Swindon Town.

Potential Newcastle target 20 year-old striker Charlie Austin scored the 3rd goal for Swindon on Saturday.

We hope Leeds can make it  to the Championship next season.

I bet ken bates is wishing he sold us beckford now.

barely scored since the fa cup games in january, out of contract in a few weeks, nowt in compensation, promotion now no longer looking assured.

yeah, i really bet he wish he’d took that 1.2m bid now.

i agree with Chris F and also with belter.

But now I am not keen on getting beckford. We got best now make room for a good 5-10 mn striker.
