Should Newcastle Sign Fitz Hall This Summer?

Fitz Hall has started 6 games for Newcastle since he arrived on loan from QPR in January.

Fitz Hall – has been solid for Newcastle when he’s played

With Steven Taylor out injured, Chris Hughton bought Mike Williamson for £1M from Pompey, and also brought in Fitz on loan through the end of the season, to ensure that center-back would not be a problem position during the run-in.

And it’s worked out quite well with Williamson showing some stellar form for the Magpies, and when Fitz gets the nod, he’s been solid for Newcastle at the back.

And if Argentine Coloccini is not fit for the game at Plymouth on Monday night, Hall could get his 7th start for the Magpies, since young Tamas Kadar is also out injured.

This is what Fitz said today about him time on Tyneside:

“My views haven’t changed from when I first came here. I came here on the basis of I wanted to get some games under my belt at a massive club like Newcastle and see where it takes me.”

“It’s a massive club and anyone if they had a chance to sign for Newcastle, they would be stupid to turn it down.”

“But at the end of the day, my contract here is to the end of the season and I have still got two more years at QPR.”

So it looks like Hall would be only too happy to sign for Newcastle, if he gets the chance in the summer.

He is 29, and owner Mike Ashley has said Newcastle would only sign players 26 years old or younger, so that may tell against him.

But regardless of his age, do you think Newcastle should sign Hall, on his ability alone?

NUFCELITE – Perhaps she did love it, she spends enough time snooping on them. It’s double standards from her, to slag blogs off whilst finding it ok to pinch her next story from them at the same time.

Are we supposed to check with Ed before we write anything?

As far as the Carroll/Taylor make-up. Yes most fans would love it, but it’s still unsubstantiated press rubbish with absolutely nothing to back it up other than ‘reports from a source’.

NUFCELITE – Then again, plenty of people wanted to comment on it so the demand for people to call her names was there, including from me.

NUFCELITE – That is the first time she has had an article directed at her vile spin in the year the blog has been up. Considering the amount she written about us I think it’s fair enough to have a go back.

Remember, she was slagging blogs off in general aswell. The very blogs where she gets her stories from sometimes!

Why not just get him on a another loan deal for the season? And then see if he can cope with the Premier League?

This is tugh. he is not the most skilled full back for sure. But he wants to play for newcastle and he has given us some good games. I think if he had to oppurtunity to play with the toon in the prem league he would spill his guts for us. I think if we could get him on the cheap then why not. He could be a good fill in player in case of injuries that we don’t have to pay an outragious ammount. He has expeience and heart i say if the money is right give the lad a go. I am all about supporting players who don’t just put on the black and white kit, but put it on and tell people they will have to rip it off to get it back.

Definitely need another Premier league class CB because Taylor and Kadar seem to pick up injuries on a regular basis (exception made for Taylor’s current injury). Plus i’m still not convinced that Colo is suited to the premiership due to his lack of pace and aerial ability. Fitz Hall has done a the job he was required to do and should be sent back to QPR.

we will have limited budget this year, and CB isnt our first priority

Kadar should be loan out next season, I really dont see the point of having a young player with potential but just letting him to warm our bench, loan him out and let him get regular first team football, it is very important for him and us…I dont want him to be our another Edgar and waste his talent on the bench

I dont rate Hall and I dont think he is good enough for PL…but he is only fourth choice
we dont have big budget this year, as long as he is cheap and willing to accept a short contract…he can be our short term backup player…at the end of the day, he wants to stay and is willing to give his all

What i don’t get is why was he loaned out from QPR in the 1st place? We’re obviously better than QPR and He was 4th chocie there? That doesn’t say much about us?

fitz hall? no we should’nt there are alot better defenders out there and if anything we should go for a defender that can play accross the back or atleast more than one position.

Here we go again with the he’s not good enough BS. Every club needs solid squad players who can stay fit and motivated, do a job and not make a fuss if they don’t play every week. One size fits the bill. If Hooton wants him that’s OK with me.
