Coloccini Out – Hall, Barton And Carroll All Start

Argentine International Fabricio Coloccini  has lost his  battle to be fit following his hamstring injury last Tuesday night at the Madejski Stadium, and will not play tonight at Home Park.

So Fitz Hall comes in for his 7th start of the season, and gets another chance to impress Chris Hughton, and potentially get a contract offer from Newcastle this summer.

Hall has himself just recovered from a hamstring problem,  but will  partner Mike Williamson at the heart of the Newcastle defense tonight.

Joey Barton also gets a start as he replaces Jonas Gutierrez on the left-side of midfield and Andy Carroll comes in, as expected,  for Shola Ameobi as the lone front striker.   Shola is on the bench, as is Peter Lovenkrands for the second game in succession.

Gutierrez is not on the bench, so the Argentine may have picked up an injury in training.  But 20 year-old Tamas Kadar is on the bench, so we have to assume he has now recovered from his hamstring problems.

We hope we can extend our 6 game winning streak to 7 tonight, and at the same time win the Championship, but we are not expecting an easy game from Plymouth, who have to win tonight to avoid relegation.

Howay The Lads!!

I can not understand Chris H. Why does he use Barton on the left wing. Surly Løvenkrands R Taylor or Fabrice Pancrate could do a better job

mind boggling to start fitz hall over kadar….pointless and just hindering the development of one of our young stars…..possibly one of the few criticisms you could aim at hughton this year, our youngsters really havent got a fair crack at all this year. what the point in our youth policy?

feel for barton to an extent also, hes not a winger and should be givin a chance in the middle

    3 bad signings-

Fitz Hall- Stopped the progress of Kadar

Leon Best- Stopped progress of Ranger

Fabrice Pancrate- Stopped progress of LuaLua

All three are in the team today and are quite frankly part of the reason we will never be an Arsenal.

Even when promotion is gauranteed and the title is a point off Hughton still refuses to play the youngsters. 1 major flaw in a great manager

No youngsters today either. Come on Hughton, surely you got to let them get some experience when we already are in the Premiership.

Conor Newton, Brad Inman and Phil Airey really deserves som first team football.

    Why the negativity?

Trust CH and by the end of the night, we’ll be champions.

Next game, then we can play the youngsters.

Edd Case- We know we’ll be champions but we think that the youngsters deserve a shot, at least some should be played, anyone agree with this team?

    I’d go:

    Krul
    Simspon Kadar Williamson Enrique
    R.Taylor Barton Smith Routledge
    Best Carrol

basically giving Nolan a break, Barton a chance in the centre, Smith back in the team, Kadar replacing Colo over Hall, giving R.Taylor a run out, trying Routledge out on the left and playing Best for a change!

Lol, what can you say except we are promoted and all but guarenteed to win the CCC so put some second string players in! Well, not what I’d do.

5 across the middle! sigh, it’s decisions like this that make me think Hughton isn’t ready for the prem but just aswell we’re playing the bottom o’ the league.

The 4-5-1 line up has proved really successful this season away from home. Barton played “left wing” against Cardiff away and we still won there. Fair doos.

I think we need a new left and right winger in the summer as back up, thoughts?

I do agree about Kadar over Hall, could be he’s still carrying a niggle?

These tactics are good for the CCC, so it’s alreet, but he’ll need to change them for the EPL IMO. As long as he realises that. 🙂

yeah very true about ranger and lua lua turkish….just makes no sense and shows that basically hughtons vision is at odds with ashleys, yet neither of them seem to care.
when are these young lads EVER going to be blooded, it wont be next season because we will be struggling for our lives….the likes of krul and kadar will be gone before we give them a chance

i’m worried now about the future of some fantastic youngsters.
kadar is ready… just needs games
ranger needs games and goals for his confidence
inman and newton, don’t know much about these two, but surely them and vuckic would appreciate a run out
and harper has played every game bar 1.5 games, so why not give krul a chance.
v true buddy, we may lose them before they ever get a chance
we’ve won the league… whats stoppin CH? maybe he doesnt wanna upset nolan and harper with their players commitee?

Heavy strengthening. But with this I think we can do well.

I am not a big fan of the age cap of 26. We need experienced Premiership players. Experience comes with age.
