Mike Williamson – It’s Unbelievable At The Newcastle Club

Mike  Williamson is the type of player we’d like to see more of at the Newcastle club.

Mike Williamson – it’s unbelievable

First of all, and the most important thing is that Mike looks like  a very good player, who can hold his own in the Premiership.  And also, this boy always comes over as so mature, and as soon as he arrived on Tyneside, all he wanted to do was to play as many games as possible for Newcastle , to help them win promotion.

Well, Mike has done all of that, and he is now the first choice alongside Fabricio Coloccini in central defense, although Steven Taylor will come back next season and will want to be playing in that back-line too.

Mike has already appeared 14 times in the Newcastle side, since he arrived from Portsmouth in late January, and he’s good in the air and looks like a very solid defender, and a complete bargain at £1M.

Williamson told the local Evening Chronicle today about joining the famous Newcastle club:

“It’s unbelievable.” “It’s been such a turnaround for me personally.” “It’s just brilliant, and the boys are enjoying it now.”

“We want to finish the job in style, and it will mean so much to play against Ipswich in front of a big crowd like that.”

“It’s been a good end to the season, and the hard work starts again in pre-season.”  “It’s a class dressing room.”

“But everybody knows that you can’t take anything for granted.”

Newcastle need to avoid defeat on Saturday and it will be the first time since the 1906-1907 season, when Newcastle won the top league in England,  that they have remained undefeated at home in a season – yet another record for this unbelievable season.

We now have 7 straight wins and it would be great if we can win the last two games to end the season with 9 wins in a row, and 104 points in the league, and we’ll then win it by at least 9 points from WBA .

Also, it’s a good test and good practice of going into every game and trying to win it, which has to stand us in good stead for next season.

Mike continued:

“It was a tough game at Plymouth.”  “They were scrapping for their lives – we knew they would give us a tough game.”

“Harps made a couple of good saves, and Andy Carroll did what he’s been doing all season.”  “We played really well as a team.”

“The boys have been great together, home and away – the performances have been unbelievable.”  “There’s a great team ethic and we just want to continue that in the last two games.”

As we said earlier we look forward to more players like Mike  joining the club in the summer – and we think 4 good players is what we need.

Fullback, central midfield, striker and winger are the four positions we think Chris will strengthen in the summer – we cannot wait.

Comments welcome.

Right back – Lorenzo De Silvestri
Centre half – Matthew Upson or Ricardo Rocha
Centre mid – Mohamed Diame and Matty Taylor or Giovani Dos Santos
    Right wing – Jermaine Pennant
    Striker – Juan Albín

*** It is seriously worrying that you’d want:

Rocha: Absolute flop at Spurs, who is 31!!
Upson: Extremely expensive, injury prone, wouldn’t sign for us.
Pennant: Bad attitude (although was nice when i met him) and hasn’t settled anywhere, to old!
Dos Santos: talented, but failed at Spurs, not up to the physical demands of the premiership.

Would be happy with Albin, Diame and Taylor although Taylor is 28 and doesn’t fit the youth policy. — plus we already have two 😉

Di Silvestri would be way to expensive, he has a 5 year contract with Fiorentina.

    Van Aanholt-Chelsea
    Diego Buonanotte-River Plate
    Charlie Austin-Swindon
    Henri Lansbury-Arsenal
    Jamie O’Hara-Pompey
    Parrick Helmes-Leverkusen

Tino, ok mate the players who you say do fit the youth policy, but could they hack the prem? Gunter would be a good buy and maybe Bradley but Lallana and Driver we have players who are much better than them on our books already.

We already have young talents in the cnetre half position so theres no point in going out and buying more, ya just need to add abit more experience incase the likes of col, Taylor and williamson get injured. Upson wouldn’t be too expensive, as like you said he’s injury prone so he wouldnt be. I’ve liked what i’ve seen from Rocha in his few run outs for pompey, and he would be quite cheap. Pennant has to settle somewhere and the toons a perfect place

I don’t think we have a better out right left winger, than driver, Jonas has been class there, but he’s not left footed, not saying Driver would start over him, but provide competition with Routledge for starting.

Lallana is a punt, he’s young enough and with enough potential to warrant buying for the right money.

MarkO- Diego B had a massive car crash were 3 of his freinds died, he was driving, only one wearing a seat belt. but has had significant injurys and is unlikely to play for 2-3years from what i hear, also have heard that his state of mind is shot to peices, poor lad he is such an exceptional talent

He’s not overated. We can say this players good, bad are whatever, but we have to bring the right players in. The players we say will probably not be the ones that Chris is looking at, i just hope he’s aloud to get at least 6players in. We havent played great this season, and away from home against most prem teams if we play like that we’ll be walked all over. The players we buy have to be players who go straight into the team

Driver is a reasonable transfer target, McGready has an attitude and his wages would be huge along with the fee, we need players who will develop at newcastle, its the only way we will be able to afford wages and fees.

McGeady is chubby and lazy. lol a bit like a combination of Peter Griffin and Homer Simpson, but minus the humour.

He is totally the opposite of what we are looking for in terms of potential and value. I’m still gutted we missed out on Moses, thats the kind of player we need: unproven but very promising.

Some of the players mentioned il either be very overwhelmed or they are fantasy football players with to much risk.

    For me, id want

    RB: Hutton/Mancienne
    LB: Belhadj/Figueroa/Armand Traore
    CM: O’hara/Gibson/Damien Plessis/Muamba
AM: Ireland although may be to much
    RW/LW: Gamst (Free)/Mcgeady/Obertan (Loan)/Tosic (Loan)/Lee Chung-Yong
    FC: Vela (Loan)/Albin (Free)/Falcao

Lol, dog w*nkers side. I think they have some mackem players onloan too. With us going down it has made us more realistic now, every year i always said this is the season when we win something, and for the first season i didnt we do, i know its the championship but it’s still an achievement. we took one step back, now we have taken a step foward, we need to take another step forward and thats stability in the prem. My goal for next season is safety and beat the mackems, now that would be a great season

arjen robben is one of the worlds best right now, can we sign him please, just scored another screamer.

yes mate, definately has mad us more realistic, i would settle for 17th on a one goal differance off shola’s cock, just as long as we stay up and build from there, i do seriously think if we do that, another 4 years from then and we will see us competing for european places again, and i say this because we are sound financially, and about 7 of the top 8/9 are in alot of financial trouble, that is where we could take advantage, just hope we do this with young hungry players such as carroll

Mcgeady flatters to deceive, I am Byker born and bred so black and white through and through, but I now live in Falkirk and have adopted the Bairns as my local team s and watch them when I can.

McGeady looks like he’s doing a lot but in reality is really quite unproductive in my books, and that is against pretty average to poor defences because being really honest the standard of football in the SPL not counting the bigot bro’s I recon is about on a par with bottom of the fizzy, so I don’t think he would be attracting any attention if he moved south of the border.
