Newcastle Again After Norwegian Erik Huseklepp

Newcastle United have again made contact with Norwegian side FC Brann to sign their highly-rated midfielder Erik Huseklepp, who Newcastle have been interested in for at least a year.

Erik Huseklepp – Newcastle target

The report suggests Newcastle tried to do a deal earlier this week, but his club Brann have become greedy and are now asking for £4M for their player.

That may be a problem for Newcastle during the summer, as other clubs know Newcastle will be more flush with money, now they are back in the Premiership.

But Newcastle may not be in the driving seat for the player,  since news is that he may want to join Chelsea rather than Newcastle, and if that’s true we shouldn’t bother signing him.

Newcastle have bid £2M for the player, and it’s a matter of take it or leave it as far as Brann are concerned – and we like that approach, because there are many more good players that Newcastle can sign this summer.

The 6’2″ player can play right wing or striker, and Huseklepp has so far played 8 times for Norway, and appeared over 97 times for Brann with 21 goals.

Huseklepp has been at Brann since 2005, and before that played for Fyllingen 57 times with 6 goals.

But we should only bring players to Newcastle who want to come here, because we know what happens when they just come for the money – they disappear when the going gets tough – as we all witnessed last season to our horror.

If you are basing this on the report from vital football, then that report is from the 1.February. Don’t know why it showed up on newsnow at this time?

A bit sloppy there, Ed? Hehe

In any case, Huseklepp is not good enough. Has his matches, but in general too unstabil. Has been shite along with his team this season.

Andreas Andersson is the worst striker we have signed period.

Leon Best is closing in on that achievement though.

Or perhaps the worst was Michael Owen the mercenary.

my advice to you is to firstly go and support a different team as you clearly have no idea about newcastle united and to secondly buy a dictionary.

henok, this isn’t football manager, do you really think in one season we would sign all those people and completely disrupt the harmony of the team by getting rid of some of our best players, williamson????Barton???Lovenkrands???? theyve been solid players for us no reason to get rid of them

Whoa – so Ed’s posted a duff story… He posts several each day, give the guy a break for ONCE failing to check the date line!

Or should we all nit-pick until Ed wonders why he bothers and chucks in the towel?

    Haha, relax Anger.

It’s not like we’re picking on him. Just telling him that the article was old. Don’t believe Ed takes it personally in any case.

You must be an undercover sunderland fan. I can smell the garbage seeping through the computer from your comment. If you were a real toon army soldier you wouldn’t dog out the entire squad that got us back to the promise land and showed more heart then any newcastle squad in the last 5 years. Get a grip man. This is a time to enjoy being back in the prem league and keep our feet on the ground. Chris Hughton will get us where we need to go…
