Barton Continues In Great Spirits – Doesn’t Want Season To End

27-year-old Joey Barton will probably get a start for Newcastle on Sunday afternoon, and if he follows his last two starts for Newcastle, he will again be voted our best player.

Joey Barton – will get a start on Sunday afternoon

Joey talked to Newcastle United TV today:

“For me it’s strange because I’m just getting back into it now and I don’t want the season to end,”   “I think all of the other lads are looking forward to the break, and deservedly so.”

“It’s been a long, hard season for them and they’ve been magnificent.”    “I’m delighted that I’ve been able to come back at the end and play a part, but all of the credit must go to the lads who’ve been there all year.”

“I just wish we had a few more games to go. I can’t wait for every game at the minute and, for me, Sunday is a big match that I’m desperate to be part of.”

“We’re not on the beach just yet and we want to finish with a win. We’ll have another big away support and we owe that to them.”

Quite honestly we’ve never seen Joey in such great spirits as he seems to be in right now, and the lad seems to have fallen in love with the club, the fans and the City.

Not unlike what we’ve heard from Nicky Butt, before he leaves the area after six years on Tyneside.

We have to hope that if Joey can avoid injury next season, he could have his best ever season in a new Puma black and white strip.

Which reminds us – where are the new strips?

From what we’ve heard from Joey these last few weeks,  we have to hope his past troubles are firmly behind him, and if that’s indeed true, that would be great for both Joey Barton and the Newcastle club.

Comments very welcome.

Again some very good words from Barton. Lets hope he really sticks to the “new Joey Barton”-style and dont get himself in trouble again.

I think our patience with Joey will be rewarded,he has the makings of a very good player if he stays off the beer and out of trouble.

He is a good player some of his performances 4 man city were breath taken. We have seen bits of his talent on a in a few games! He just needs a good run in the team and some well deserved luck from injurys. He is like a totally different person since his jail experence.Does any body no if he had injury problems at man city.I wanted him out at the end of last season but the way he,s has changed he puts him self across as nice lad and he,s finally acting like pro! Footballer He,s talking the talk can he walk the walk i think yes. Everybody at the club seems to like him they should know being with the lad 7 days a week good luck J.B ..HWTL
