Good news for Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul today, is that he will get his very first start in the league this Sunday at QPR.
Tim Krul – gets his first league start
Manager Chris Hughton had said Tim would be involved at QPR on Sunday, and the manger has said today that in fact Tim will start in goal, in place of the previously ever-present Steve Harper.
And 17 year-old Slovenian Haris Vuckic has also been included in the squad, after a couple of appearances for the Reserves earlier in the week, so Haris should be sharp.
Tim will be looking forward to his 7th start ever for Newcastle, and his 8th appearance this season.
Manager Chris Hughton told the Newcastle official site today:
“Tim will start at QPR.”
“That first day at West Brom when he came on and did so well probably feels like a long time ago now for him.”
“But this is just reward for him and I’m sure he’s looking forward to it.”
Vuckic has just returned from a six-month knee and ankle lay-off – and he has the same attitude as Joey Barton, who has also only recently returned from his long-term foot injury – and both players are very keen to play on Sunday.
But Chris has also decided not to take Steven Taylor, after watching him in training today, and it’s best to err on the side of safety, and it’ll be great to have Steven back 100%, when pre-season starts in July.
Hughton talked about his decision on Steven today:
“We’ve decided not to risk Steven with one game to go.”
The Newcastle United manager is also unsure whether Tamas Kadar will be fit, after picking up a knock in the Newcastle Reserve’s 2-0 win over Rotherham United on Tuesday night.
But we think if Tamas is fit, he will also start for his 10th start of the season and 17th overall appearance for the Magpies.
Comments welcome.

Comment #4yeah he needs to play some of the young lads like or we will lose them.
Heard that Dindane had a medical at a prem club, i would love him up here. But with this stupid youth policy we’re going to miss out on players like this. He reminds me of Martins but with alot more about him

Putting Haris Vuckic in the squad. 🙂
Very good choice. I hope he plays in the game and is not just there as a sub. And does any body have a link or something for the match tomorrow?

Comment #6We already have a handful of talented young players like Ben Tozer, Ryan Donaldson, Frank Wiafe Danquah, Haris Vuckic, Kazenga LuaLua, Tamas Kadar, Wesley Ngo Baheng, Bradden Inman and Nile Ranger so why go out and buy more. We need to start giving these a chance instead of going out and buying more

A great player but if you want a young brilliant Turk look no further than Nuri Sahin 😉

Comment #13What a great idea, lets scout players from youtube coz that really works doesn’t it? You don’t think that maybe just maybe Chris might know what he is doing?

Wasn’t that how we got Xisco? You’d think that horror story would be ripe in peoples minds.

Comment #15We need four to five players to strengthen squad for the coming season and I am sure CH already knows whom to go for. after the World Cup will be the time for transfer action but again this will be for the big names and over inflated prices, can we buy before then? any one knows when the window opens officially?
Tomorrow will be a game that will be a great opportunity for the young lads to get experience but that 100 points target might push CH to field his trusted and tested side except Krull of course.
