Chris Hughton Wins Manager Of Month Award For April

Newcastle United manager Chris Hughton has won the Coca-Cola Championship monthly manager award for April.

Chris Hughton – with the award this morning

Midfielder Kevin Nolan collected the player prize earlier today, so it’s a double swoop for the Coca Cola Champions.

The rookie Newcastle manager led his club to five wins out of six during the April fixtures and of course thoroughly deserves the award – for a fourth time this season.

And after the announcement of the award Hughton told the official site today:

“It’s always nice to get this recognition and it’s a nice way for both myself and Kevin to finish the season.”

“But I think he’ll agree when I say the most important prizes are always the team ones and we’re delighted to have those in the bag.”

“It’s been a great month which has seen us secure promotion and the title but these awards are for everyone because it has been a real team effort from day one.”

As usual Chris Hughton puts the emphasis right back on the team, and it’s little wonder the team spirit is so great with him now in the lead on Tyneside.

Well done Chris and Kevin!

I know the players of the season was voted for in January…But what about manager of the season?

Hughton MUST win it. On wins/goals scored/goals conceded/points/monthly awards he has outclassed everyone!

Also Hodgson to win overall manager of the season, but Hughton has to be up with regards to all the football leagues (Paul Lambert needs a mention as well!)
