Fitz Hall may be sold by new QPR boss Neil Warnock this summer, but we think it’s unlikely Newcastle will pick him up.
Fitz Hall – signing for Newcastle this summer?
The Evening Chronicle today is reporting that sources in West London are suggesting that Hall is one of four players that Warnock is prepared to sell in the summer, as he looks to rebuild the London side.
Fitz has been injured for much of his time on Tyneside this year with hamstring problems, otherwise he would have played more than the 7 starts he’s been given at Newcastle.
When Fitz has played for the Magpies he’s seemed solid enough, and is quick at the back, something we don’t have much of with our other center-backs.
Apparently Neil Warnock has been asked to reduce the wage bill at the London club and may be open to a good deal, should Newcastle show any interest in Fitz.
Hughton talked about Fitz today, and the fact that he will miss the game with his parent club tomorrow afternoon, because of injury:
“It’s a shame for Fitz – it’s one he wanted to play in.” “We’ve been delighted with him here.”
“Not only what he’s done on the pitch but with him around the place. He’s settled in very quickly.”
And when Chris was asked outright whether he would sign Fitz permanently in the summer Chris was as usual non-committal as he said:
“These are decisions that will have to be made and will be made.”
It’s difficult to know which way Chris is leaning on bringing Fitz in permanently this summer, but we don’t think Newcastle will sign him.
We did a poll in mid-April on whether Newcastle should sign Fitz and 49.8% said yes and 46.3% said no, with the others undecided. So it would seem the opinions on Fitz are divided on Tyneside.
He’s been on Tyneside since January but has been injured most of the time, and that’s not a good sign to us.
What do you think about Fitz – should Newcastle sign him?
