No Way The New Newcastle Want 30 Year-Old Ivan Klasnic

It’s getting rather comical how Newcastle are being linked with all kinds of players, both  young and old.

Ivan Klasnic – 30 year old has 7 goals in 28 appearances for Bolton

We have to believe the players Newcastle want to sign in the summer are 26 years-old or younger, because that builds for the future and makes a lot of financial sense too.

So when there are reports around that say Newcastle are interested in players past their best – we look at those reports with great scepticism.

Bolton Wanderers have had the 38 times capped Croation Ivan Klasnic on loan for the season, and it seems that his parent club Nantes want somebody – anybody – to take the player off their books.

The French club are are looking for a club to take the  30-year-old Croatian on a permanent basis, and the clubs interested are said to be Newcastle United and Stoke City.

Please take Newcastle off that list, since gone are the days when the Tyneside club would take a player way past his best, and pay him ridiculously high wages.

That Newcastle club was in the past.

Steven Fletcher wants to help Burnley up from the Championship. Not that those words aren’t easy to make a shame of.

It does make sense to sign players under 26 for all sorts of reasons, but I do think it is also important to have the right blend of youth & experiance in the team. Just remember what Beardsley brought to the team the last time we were promoted & imagine what a player like that could do for us now. I’ve been trying to think of player like that we could sign, but I have struggled. How about Robbie Keane? Assuming he would come & we could afford him.

don’t be so sceptical about Klasnic. He is a quality striker with a lot of experience and I see him as an ideal match-changer ala what owen is now for man.united. He is an intelligent player who turns up and does the tapins as well he is a good duell-player. If we could get Klasnic for a cut-price of lets say 1 mil and the wages wasn’t so high, he could be a great buy! He’s way better then shola and best!

Owen a match changer for man united? Not really.

He may be better than Shola, but to be fair, many are…

We should get way more quality than this guy. A guy who is over 30 and sitting on the bench for BOLTON – he surely isn’t good enough.

I don’t agree with you mate. Ever wondered if he just didn’t fit in at Bolton? Maybe it could be possible to give the lad a trial and then see if he was something….

klasnic is a class act he would obviously not be a first teamer but he can definately do a job i agree i would have him over shola and best any day of the week. He has scored 7 goals in 26 appearances for bolton however he only started 11 games and to be honest how many chances do bolton create? We obviously need a few players, we need a pacey striker with proven quality but if our 4 strikers were say carroll loven, klasnic and the one other i would be very happy

Klasnic wouldnt be a bad signing….hes a player who knows where the goal is.

And steven fletcher??? Patterson from Burnley is better and is a fantastic finisher….except laws plays him on the wing?!

i wouldnt mind Klasnic as long as Best goes out.

As long we got him cheap with low wages, he is:
    -experience premierleague and national team
    -croatian

play him as a third striker then we be fine

Newcastle should buy Stephen Ireland because he awesome and he is only 23 and he is out of favor at Man City and he is being priced really low
