When Will Newcastle Unveil The New Puma Strips?

As far as understand the Newcastle club were supposed to release the new Newcastle strips from Puma a week last Thursday, but there were some delays caused by the Iceland volcano which restricted travel, and apparently messed up the official announcment.

Will  the new strip look like this one?

With the Championship season now over, and Newcastle fans starting to return to earth after being sent into orbit by the play of  their side since last August, we are due a new strip.

Not only that,  but with the new equipment providers now being Puma, there should also be at least one new change strip – maybe two – plus new training gear, and everything else that gets sold in they Newcastle United club stores.

We wonder what’s holding things up – and we have already seen some very good strips online – so we’d really like to see the new official ones.

Maybe Puma has seen some of the ones on the internet,  realized they were better than what they had come up with – and therefore changed the strips – and hence the delay.

Of course that would be stupid to even suggest that – but there again – this is Newcastle. 😀

Here are some strips that have made it to the internet, along with the one shown above:

Here are some others – and that’s a strange name on the strip – so maybe some of our readers are responsible for  these ones. 😀

These ones are obviously fake because Northern Rock is the shirt sponsor once again for the next four years – and not Thomas Cook.

hah, i get the feeling that it may be Ashley holding it back so he can have a Sports direct-esque “70% OFF!!” sale of the adidas gear in the club shop 😉

of course, it could just be that the new contract doesnt start until june, or whenever, so they can’t reveal it just yet.

What’s wrong with the 1927 strip, or the Milburn era one? Even the 1969 shirts were a classic style. By contrast these look so fussy and over designed that the whole point of the b&w stripes is almost lost en route.

Nobody will want to buy these unimaginative monstrosities from TOFFS in 20 years time, but I guarantee they’ll still be shifting the 1927 shirt.

PS: Only 17 years to go before we can celebrate the 100th anniversary of last winning the league unless we can do something about it….

The Old strip will have to be sold out before MA will let the new one in 🙂
He wants every penny as petrol for the Heli is expensive these days.

I just love that first yellow strip. If were not interested maybe Brazil are..? 🙂

Agree with Marky mark, the 95/96 are the best, its the only one I have.

Well I must confess that I also have a QPR scarf. Got it from my dad when He was in London in the early 80´s. I was only 7 years old and not so into English fotball at that time..

1955 cup final shirt is the best one followed by the 1969 shirt, then the grandad one

It wouldn’t surprise me if MA has moved the goalposts now we’re a Premiership team & tried to re-negotiate the deal!!

Agree with Captain Beefheart. Also the 1958 shirt and kit was fine (you know – the Charlie Mitten “continental”). Like the 1927 shirt cos my dad played in a similar one for NUFC Swifts around that time. Still have the 1969 in the cupboard.

The Milburn era shirt will always be the classic style of black and white stripes. Complete with plain black shorts and the black socks with white tops. Keep the kit simple and save the beauty for the football.

    Ed!

So you think you’ll be challenging young Carroll for the No. 9 jersey next season???

Hope so, but if you don’t make the first team; please continue with this excellent website……

The section advertising Northern rock should either be angled or shaped circlelike to avoid the front giving the appearance of a cross.

I think the last one is closer to what we’ll actually get. I just can’t see Puma leaving those chest plate stripes (and I bloody hate them!).

@Stevo: Canny. Like the sleeves and black as the primary.

I did one for my FM10 save a while back. Couldn’t be bothered to make the sponsor logo again haha
