Voted Enrique!

I voted Coloccini, as he has silenced the critics from last season, and has become a solid, consistent performer for us in the heart of defence alongside Stevey T

Not the most exciting of players, but where would our season have ended if we didnt have Kevin Nolan?
4 Geordie Matriarch // May 8, 2010 at 2:12 PM
I went for Lovenkrands – he cost us nothing, he gritted his teeth and played in a vital game just afer his dad died and scored a goal, and seems a perfect gentleman.

the Entertainers – EXACTLY. Maybe not the most technically gifted player but without Nolan we’d be in the play offs. How could it be anyone else?

My opinion:
1. Jonas: Quality, work-rate, importance to the team, and consistency throughout entire season
2. Nolan: Goals. Constant threat and gave us versatility to move between different systems. Fantastic season.
3. Enrique: What a season for ever-present Jose who was part of a very strong left side of the pitch
4. Andy Carroll: Led the line well in his season of regular first team footie. Big threat in the air and was vital ingames where fluid football wasn’t flowing. Lots of goals too.
5. Lovenkrands: Scored many and very important goals. Period.
6. Coloccini: Played well in defense, and has found his feet in England. Very important in keeping the backline pretty tight this season
7. Harper: Clean sheets en masse and gave us leadership and calm at the back. Important figure at the club
8. Routledge: Only came in for part of the season but his pace, skill and creativity gave us another dimension we badly needed – will be vital in PL as well

I honestly had to vote for the Bull, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to look at myself in a mirror with a clean conscience! I part wanted to vote Colo, as he has been very composed all season, and a mall part of me wanted to vote for Simpson as he has been hammered by the fans this season for no apparent reason. Seriously though, if anybody other than Hose or Nolan wins this I will be amazed.

enrique it is; tireless displays all through the year. Last couple of years the player of the season has been a defender despite our (apart from this year) defensive frailties. Weird?
9 dutchy // May 8, 2010 at 2:28 PM
who voted for butt!? why o why?
10 Turkish Magpie // May 8, 2010 at 2:30 PM
I voted for Enrique, never seen a foreigner (apart from maybe Beye) give so much for this club evry game.
On another note, can’t believe knowone has voted for Ameobi, pretty much a goal a game all season and got us off to an amazing start this season!

Turkish Magpie – true shola got us going at the beginning, but by missing the middle third of the season he can’t really get the overall vote.
I think you guys are voting for our best player with Enrique – which I agree with. But ask yourself, would be champions with kadar at left back for example? Possibly,, certainly in the mix,, where would be without nolan? It doesn’t bear thinking about.
12 Turkish Magpie // May 8, 2010 at 2:37 PM
dutchy- i dont get it either
Beye
Bassong
Possibly Enrique
Defenders as players of the season with our ‘appauling’ record

Tough decision. For me it was a toss up between enrique, jonas, and lovenkrands. Thought about routledge too. But ended up considering jonas number one because of his creativity on the wing, ability to draw defenders and fouls, set up plays and break down the wing to cross or cut into the middle and beat defenders .

Its got to be the bull. He’s come on so much in the past 12 months and i’m looking forward to seeing how he copes with the likes of aaron lennon next season
15 andoni // May 8, 2010 at 4:26 PM
Coloccini, honestly one of the players who have developed most

Just wanted to spread the word that a similar vote on the club’s official website is being hijacked by the mackems of readytogo.net trying to get Stephen Taylor to win for some reason – seems to be working as well – he currently has 60% of the vote!

Had to be Enrique. He has just been so dominant all season and even though it is of course a weaker league, I think he has proved himself one of the top left backs in the country. Unbeatable one-on-one and more confident by the game in the final third. We played most of the season with no real shape or attacking reliable passing structure to help create chances, and his partnership with Jonas was always the biggest attacking threat.

Its been reported from Toulouse have confirmed that Newcastle representatives are interested in Andre Pierre Gignac. The 24 year old striker. He is a regular goal scorer and would be perfect for our team. Hope its true. Would cost about 7 million out of 15 million.

By the way did anybody see Blackpool beat Nottingham 2-1?!! I hope Nottingham don’t go up.
I want Cardiff City to go up.
20 andoni // May 8, 2010 at 6:59 PM
Baro, I hope so! He seems a good player for us!
21 baro // May 8, 2010 at 7:07 PM
Andoni
A very, very good player for us!!
22 andoni // May 8, 2010 at 7:07 PM
I don’t mind if Nottingham go up. There’re some good players which i liked.
Morever, if Cardiff City don’t go up we can take Ledley from it
23 baro // May 8, 2010 at 7:09 PM
Ya Ledley would be a awesome player from them and his contract is about to expire. He would be awesome player!! He is like Steven Gerrard.
24 Turkish Magpie // May 8, 2010 at 8:47 PM
