Enrique Wins The Newcastle United Blog – Player Of The Season

12:46 pm, Sunday, May 16th, 2010 by Ed Harrison · 6 Comments

We have just closed our annual poll and with 1775 votes cast, Jose Enrique has come out on top in The Newcastle United Blog Player Of  The Season.

Jose Enrique - Player Of The Season

Jose got 657 votes or 37% of the vote to win it from Kevin Nolan who got 527 votes and 29% of the vote.

Those two players were way out in front of the remaining Newcastle players.

And would you believe Andy Carroll and Fabricio Coloccini tied for 3rd place with 131 votes and 7% and only 6 votes behind was Jonas Gutierrez,  also on 7%.

Peter Lovenkrands was next in the voting in 6th place, with 65 votes and 4% of the vote.

Well done to Jose Enrique, who had a terrific season last term – and will of course be a key player for Newcastle United back in the Premiership next season.

As readers may remember last year, Sebastien Bassong won it rather easily with over 60% of the vote.

The Bull has epitomised the attitude of the whole team this season.
    Thou Shalt Not Pass.

anyone seen that facebook group, ‘ wont give an opinion on messi until he faces Enrique’ or something like that. When have you ever seen Enrique lose a 1 on 1? I haven’t and that sums up, his, the teams and our season

To be honest, I wouldn’t have been too upset if Nolan had won it, but lets face it, it should have been Enrique by a country mile! Well done the Bull.
