We Haven’t Considered 99% Of Players We’re Linked With

Newcastle have again been linkled with a number of players today.

Chris Hughton – not after 99% of players we are linked with

Whether any of the stories are true, we have no idea – but we may get lucky someday

27 year-old Jermaine Jenas was said to be the latest on Chris Hughton’s radar screen, but we think it would be a long shot for Jermaine to return to the gold-fish bowl on Tyneside.

Hughton talked about Newcastle being linked with so many players – about 409 so far this summer:

“We’re going through a period of being linked with names.”

“I would say 99% of the names we’re linked with we haven’t even considered, but that’s what generally happens in pre-season.”

“We will identify the players we need and move for them accordingly.”

Even if Newcastle are interested in Jenas, we’re fairly sure he would not want to return to Newcastle, and the fee of £5M quoted by Spurs is hardly on the cheap side either.

Comments welcome.

The JJ move is purely speculation on the sun’s part. He wouldn’t want it, we wouldn’t want it. End of.

Hughtons right, ive never seen any ok maybe one on any blog that was mentioned and eventually came to us. Every transfer window its the same players “we” think will come in and how much “we” could get for them, do we really know lol
Im hoping for a few sure, but not all the out-of-contracts are bad this summer. Its not always the case that just because there out of contract means there not good enough, they may not want to stay at their clubs. Here’s hoping

After yesterday’s news that Jermaine is finally for sale, enter stage left freshly promoted Newcastle United.

Here we have a player that failed. Failed to influence at Tottenham. Failed to make a genuine impact in a side that was crying out for an influential midfielder, a side crying out for dynamism and definition. What he gave Spurs fans instead were fleeting glimpses of what might have been.

He earned the name Marmite. But my contention was always that people who liked Marmite really liked it.

Manchester United saw Carrick and took him. Who has looked twice at Jenas?

Jenas has talked a good one. If there was ever an opportunity for him to trot out the old ambassadorial sketch, he was in like Flynn. ‘We believe we can push for that Top 4 spot’. Jermaine, some people believe in angels, but they have the self respect not to stick their stupid face in the press every three weeks to announce the point.

Towards the end, I think he could honestly feel the anger he was inciting and his game became became constricted. Lateral balls and backward passes became the order of the day.

So good luck at Toon, the club you never should have left.

We don’t need any million or half million pound players to upset the balance of a team which should finish 8th. No transfers please unless they are quality and the fat man will not spend, so stop winding us up with cheap rubbish and youngsters who never get a game anyway!!!

Is the transfer news that bad regarding the TOON that NewsNow are just posting any old rubbish under the Newcastle tag, as it seems that none of the stories after this one are anything to do with football at all!!!!

Bit harsh countrylad14! To be fair to both SJT and komfort, they have been guilty of having the odd rant, but then again, so have you! I agree that we all like to come on here and discuss, but then again we all like to shoot the sh*t now and again too.
