Newcastle Interest In Hull City’s Mendy Unlikely

News today that Newcastle United may be after Hull City defender or wing-back Bernard Mendy.

Bernard Mendy – Hull City defender interesting Newcastle?

Mendy is the latest player to be released by Hull City as they try to reduce their wage bill following their relegation from the Premiership.

But since the player turns 29 in August we very much doubt if Chris Hughton will be interested in this player.

Mendy does play on the right side, either as a full back or winger and has some pace, but we are hearing all the time from Hughton that he wants players under 25, who can still improve.

We therefore doubt this story has any truth in it.

Mendy made 56 appearances for Hull, scoring twice, but Hull issued a statement recently saying they had parted company with the player, and it was by mutual consent.

We are 99% certain that Newcastle will not be after Mendy, who played for France 3 times and was at Paris Saint-Jermaine and on loan at Bolton Wanderers,  before signing for Hull in 2008.

If you’re paying a fee for a player, I can understand the -under 26 restriction – but if you’re getting him for nowt…? What bl**dy difference does it make what age he is, as long as he is improving the side?
Where’s the satisfaction in getting relegated with ateam of U-26 year olds?
And why not sack Harper while you’re on , he’s well past it, isn’t he?

Im getting fed up of hearing why this player wont come because he,s deemed too old., or that player wont sign because he wants more than our wage cap.
CH is under huge restraints due to Ashleys restrictions.
Ashley, whats next? CH can only sign players with one leg and an eye patch?
