Newcastle After Manchester City’s Dedryck Boyata On Loan

Exciting new today that Newcastle manager Chris Hughton is considering a loan move for Manchester City’s Belgium defender Dedryck Boyata.

Dedryck Boyata – Newcastle trying to get this lad on loan

The Evening Chronicle is reporting that 19 year-old Boyata has emerged as a possible solution to provide cover across the back four for the Newcastle defense next season.

Boyota played 7 times at the beginning of last season, and looked a terrific prospect, and it could well be in City’s interests to loan out this player for a year, to give him more first-team games, as manager Roberto Mancini is likely to make some expensive defensive transfer signings this summer, with the emphasis on expensive.

The 19-year-old Belgium U21 International, who was born in Brussels  is amongst a number of top young players that the Manchester club are prepared to loan out next season to allow them all to gain some first-team experience in the Premier League.

He started his career in the youth team at Brussels before joining Manchester City in 2006, when he was just 15, and he was part of City’s 2008 FA Youth Cup winning side when City beat Chelsea 4-2 in the two-legged final.

Boyata has just three Premier League appearances to his names although he did play in Cup games last season for Manchester City too – and he will get a lot of games at Newcastle.

Newcastle are also trying to buy Boyata’s team-mate in Nedum Onuoha , who has been valued close to 7M by City, but Nedum could also presumably go out on loan next season, with Sunderland and Aston Villa said to be interested in the player.

Hughton  said today:

“It’s normal for any club to look at all areas when it comes to strengthening their squa d.”   “All the time you are constantly assessing which areas need tweaking.”

“And it’s the same for us. We’ll continue to look at the options available to us.”   “Decisions have to be made and will be made.”

Well, as usual, Chris is not giving much away at all – but we are impressed with the type of player he seems to be after this summer.

Being linked with moves for Jack Wishere, Danny Welbeck, Tom Cleverley, Nedum Onaoha and Dedryck Boyata shows clearly that Chris is only interested in bringing quality players to Tyneside.

That’s got to be good news.

Comments welcome.

I hope we dont get him he aint even on par with Kader TBH, no point he is Man Citys future! not ours!!!! we need as a club to find good youngsters cheap and BUY them and intergrate them with the main team not on loan, lets hope we can buy Nedum because that would be a good buy other than that Kris Boyd and a good Defensive Midfielder would be great to see.

I like the idea of players like Boyata, Wellbeck packing our bench next season. All have Premiership experience and if our Championship boys can’t replicate the performances of last season, we can let the on loan youngsters step up… I think this will be the most interesting transfer window we’ve ever seen for the toon.

Boyata is not up to scratch to play for Newcastle – he would be 5th choice CB and even then, I would pull in Simmo, Jose in from full back rather than play him
Wolves and Celtic fans want Guthrie but no stories on that so im not sure its true espeically with Guthrie commited in the club and he is better than Nolan/Smith
Kris Boyd has to be brought in NO CHOICE BUT TO OFFER HIM BIG MONEY and sell nolan to mae up wages. Young creative player on loan for midfield please and a solid versatile defender must be bought.ONOUHA would be perfect but I think the Mackems will of 5,6 or even 7 mill for him and also offer him more wages than newcastle.

The transfer window is like Russian Roulette crossed with a car boot sale, a few teams get the genuine bargains and the rest get stiffed with overrated/injury prone players that clubs are pleased to see the back of…

How can you rate Welbeck as quality? He wasn’t even good enough for Preston. Shite…

Dedryck Boyata is more exciting as he can play both as defence and as a defensive central midfielder. But unsure of how many games he would get…

    🙂 @ Newutd

I think selling Nolan is out of the question unless we are offered 20 million, for that i would reconsider!

what is happening now?… getting excited with an 19 years old kid who has no PL experience, just make up the numbers and we might not even have a chance to sign?

with Colo, Taylor, Williamson and Kadar, I really doubt he will play a lot of games… and if we have to count on a young defender to save us in relegation dog fight, we are in trouble

frankly, I m tired of those loan deals, we should concentrate on getting players who are available for free first….Boyd, Ledley rather than loan players, most of the managers are still look at their options before they start loaning out youngsters…even tho we go all in for Wishere, Wenger wouldnt let him to join us now anyway

Don’t think he’s the answer. I would much prefer Onaoha, experienced can cover all positions across the back four. Could make right back his own and when needed could cover for anyone else. We’ve already got Colo, Willianson, S Taylor and Kadar for CB I think that’s decent enough in that position.
Anyone know what happened to the supposed Juan Albin deal?

Spot on, fongct. Don’t see why we should develop other players at the possible expense of our own.

Boyota wouldnt be a bad player but I’d rather take Onuoha or Richards if a chance.

Hey I dont have a single idea what happened to the Juan Albin deal? Its said on Sky Sports it was official on a free transfer couple of months ago.

From a couple of months ago that Juan Albin signed on a free transfer for Newcastle United. I don’t know if true but maybe when he expires contract he is ours.

Much prefer Onaoha, but would take the two if available; still need creative mid fielder, striker and still fancy Boro’s Wheater signing for the toon this summer. He’s a future England international and possibly better than our own Steve Taylor. We’ll see!
