With the news that Leeds United have recruited goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel on a two year contract yesterday, it leaves the path open for Norwich City to recruit Newcastle goalkeeper Fraser Forster on loan again for next season.
Fraser Forster – out on loan at Norwich next season
Chris Hughton is likely to keep 22 year-old Dutch goalkeeper Tim Krul will again be Steve Harper’s back-up for Newcastle next season, so that will also open up a loan move once again for the very talented 6’7″ Hexham-born goalkeeper.
The Norwich Chairman Alan Bowkett confirmed last week that talks were ongoing between the two clubs with Forster already saying he would be very willing to return to Norwich next season.
The 22-year-old had been linked with a loan move to Leeds following the release of Danish goalkeeper Casper Ankergren but Leeds manager Simon Grayson yesterday revealed 23 year-old Schmeichel as his first summer signing.
Schmeichel, the son of the famous Peter Schmeichel of Manchester United fame, played 40 times for Notts County last season, as the Nottingham club won the League Two title.
But we now expect a loan deal to be announced that Fraser will again be out on loan at Norwich City next season, and that should again be a win-win-win for Norwich, Newcastle and the Newcastle club.
