Owen Coyle, the Bolton manager, has literally begged the Arsenal club to let him have 18 year-old Jack Wilshere for another season on loan.
Jack Wilshere – a great player for England in the future?
But hey, we don’t blame Owen one little bit, as he has probably read in the press that another club – Newcastle United – are also very interested in assisting 18 year-old Wilshere in his football development next season.
Wilshere made 14 appearances last season for Bolton, and looked better and better as the season progressed, and the star of the future certainly had a mutually beneficial loan spell at the famous Reebok club.
Bolton manager Owen Coyle has been quoted in a number of papers as saying:
“I called Arsene Wenger to thank him for letting us have Jack last season. I think it was a fantastic experience for him and a very worthwhile one for us too.”
“I honestly think he improved as a player, so we have asked the question.” “If he feels that Jack is not quite ready for first-team football at Arsenal next season, then we would love the opportunity to bring him back.”
We have absolutely no problem with what Owen told Arsene – as it looks like Jack could become a huge star of the future – no doubt about that – and we are huge fans of the 18 year-old.
But we also have to hope, as lifetime Newcastle fans, that a certain Chris Hughton has also had a talk with Arsene, a great manager if ever there was one, about Newcastle United’s interest in Jack.
And we really do think Wilshere could benefit by spending a year on Tyneside next season.
But these loan spells may not be worked out until even early August, and it’s far too early and even unnecessary for the Arsenal manager to make any decisions, at this stage of the summer.
But when he does, we have to hope he makes the right choice, if the Arsenal manager indeed decides to send Jack out on loan again.
After all, Jack could get stale if he goes back to Bolton – again.
