Andy Carroll had had his hearing today at the Newcastle Crown Court, and he pleaded not guilty to the charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm against Michael Cook.
Andy Carroll – goes on trial October 25th
We had hoped there may be an end to the case, but of course no such luck, as Andy’s trial will now begin in Newcastle on Monday, October 25th October.
Andy’s troubles occurred at the Blu Bambu night club in the Bigg Market in Newcastle last December 7th and his trial will be held before Judge John Milford, and is reported to potentially last up to four days.
That’s a bad time to have a trial, as it probably means that Andy will miss some games, but hey, that’s what happens when you get involved in this kind of nonsense.
Heaven knows what happens if he is found guilty, and he could even become the second Newcastle player within a couple of years to spend time in prison, which is not good.
When will they ever learn?
Comments welcome.

Comment #2No chance, if the lad has done wrong he needs to be brought to book. He should be treat the same as everyone else, regardless of the fact he is probably the player we are pinning our hopes of stopping up on.
Having said that, I very much doubt that with all his expensive lawyers he would have pleaded not guilty if they didn’t think he could get off, or if they think any evidence is flimsy.

Comment #3I’ve heard many of what I would call ‘word of mouth’ reports of what went on there, and it seems he could be bang to rights on this one. From what I hear, Carrolls missus got a drink threw at her, somebody threw one back at her, some Charva laughed and Carroll smashed a bottle and a glass on his head. I have no idea if this is what actually went on, but enough people seem to believe it to be truth. I hope it is wrong, and I hope to see AC banging the goals in for us next season, even though I have my doubts about his ability. As always, will be happily proved wrong (on either point!).

you are probably right there any brief worth their money will tell you either to pleady guilty or not guilty depending on the evidence, as in this case they have told him to plead not guilty means there is either flinsy evidence or carroll can prove it was not him.

Comment #9yeah i read most of it this morning as i couldn’t keep my eyes open any longer last night but your right he does seem to believe what he says.
mind you i did speak to a teaboy in a gosforth cafe this morning and he said the teaboy at shearers bar is spot on and even went on to say that he had been asked by hughton (when delivering his tea) to watch a guy on youtube and make a decision if we should buy him.

Comment #11Carroll will be OK. He is going on trial in front of NUFC supporters and the jury will not care whether he smashed a bottle over somebody’s head or not viz Steeeeeveee Gerrard.

Comment #12jimeley@ 11. We have all heard the chinese whisper stories as I posted above, and I hope you are right mate. I worry he will be tried though by a jury of ‘his peers’ which means they will have to find a dozen charvers from gateshead to come to that opinion! They could be easily swayed to be corrupt with some Elizibeth Juke at Argos sovies and a bit of burbery!

Comment #13yeah he’s great lad only 32 he’s scored 2 goals in his career in the unigate sunday league, and also scrubs the bogs down his local, we could get him on a free!! i’ve already been in contact with his manager and he said his present club are willing to let him go due to him having alzheimer’s, but that would be good for us as it will confuse the other team on the pitch, they also said that he get amnesia from time to time but it’s ok cos he doesn’t remember having it.
he looks good to go what do you think??

Comment #16On a side note, it’s quiet out here tonight. I am guessing from last night’s epic post that everybody is catching up on their sleep tonight? I would certainly suggest that coxonfamily, mackemsafc89 and baro would at least need an early night like? I certainly would if I was posting till 2-3am. Then again when you get to my age you need a nice nap now and again.

unfortunalty we sent him a contract out already and he said he was “All Shook Up” but then he said “Always On My Mind” but then things turned bad and i told him how much we would pay him as i was handing the contract over he said “Return To Sender”
but i’m still hopeful we can get him as he said “Release Me” to his current club
