Another Daily Mail Rubbish Report About Andy Carroll

The Daily Mail has a silly report out today saying that Birmingham and Stoke City will fight it out for Newcastle’s Andy Carroll.

Andy Carroll – with Newcastle fans

But this newspaper has lost a significant amount of credibility,  since they almost wrecked England’s hosting of the 2018 World Cup, by their  entrapment of Lord Triesman, so we cannot expect decent reporting from this newspaper.

And we don’t.  With regurgitated stories like this one, nobody is even listed as being the reporter.

But these types of stories will likely continue over the summer, even though Andy Carroll has said he has no desire at all to leave his home-town club and manager Chris Hughton has waxed lyrical about the boy’s form this year.

Andy will likely become a full England International at the start of next season, and scored 19 goals last term, and looks like a star striker in the making and will in all likelihood be given the famous number 9 shirt at Newcastle for next season.

And the lad is supposed to be leaving in the summer – there is no way will that happen, but when did truth get in the way of a story in the Daily Mail.

Ha. Why would Birmingham be interested, having just bought Zigic and already have Jerome, Benitez etc.

I was about to leave a comment deriding the story on their website but then I thought that simply acknowledging it was all they were after. I say just ignore tripe like this.

jst wondering cause if he does go down for a bit, we will be left with the amazing shola and best to complement lovenkrands upfront. I bet tht will scare the living pants of most premier league side :p

@toongloom: he’s looking at a sentence, aye. Dunno how long he’ll be away for, though.

He’s being done for actual bodily harm (ABH), not grevious bodily harm (GBH), which is much worse. A bloody nose counts as ABH. Personally I’d be surprised if he gets more than community service.

He needs to sort himself out though, sharpish. This really needs to be the last time he gets into trouble.
