No Chance Of Newcastle Getting Midfielder Charlie Adam

Blackpool manager Ian Holloway has told any club looking to sign his midfield star Charlie Adam, to forget it,  because Charlie will be staying at Bloomfield Road and trying to keep Blackpool in the Premiership next season.

Charlie Adam – after scoring at Wembley – he’s going nowhere

Adam has been already been linked with a potential move to Everton and Newcastle United and Wigan Athletic are clubs who also may be interested.

But once Blackpool secured their promotion by beating Cardiff City at Wembley,  in that terrific play-off final, it was always going to be difficult to prise the talented Scottish central midfielder away from the Seasiders.

Holloway told the Blackpool Gazette:

“Just before the kick-off at Wembley, Charlie ran over to me and I gave him a bit of a hug and said in his ear ‘You were born for this day’.”

“If we hadn’t got promoted, I think he’d have been gone already.” “But now we’ve gone up, I don’t think wild horses would be able to drag him away.”

That says it all – it’s now very very unlikely that Charlie will be moving away form Blackpool, especially after he was Blackpool’s player of the season and also made the Championship team of the season, which also included four Newcastle players of course – Coloccini, Enrique, Nolan and Carroll.

On 4 August 2009, Adam signed a two-year contract with Blackpool, after he had been playing on loan for the Seasiders, and Adam played 46 games for Blackpool with 17 goals  last season and has 59 total appearances with 19 goals for the seaside club.

Whoever Charlie plays for in the years ahead, it would seem like he’s got a great career ahead of him – but he would look very good in a black and white striped shirt. 😀

Agree with SupaMag @ 4, but on the side of that, lets study the picture Ed has provided here for a minute. Seriously, if he turned up for your 5 a side game, he would be fat wheezy kid that you would place in the nets!

Great left foot and can pick out a pass….but not really an improvement on what we have got.

We need a bit of pace in midfield as well as creativity and you’re not getting that with Adam.

Why would we want ADAM anyways? For one he stood out in a bad blackpool team, playing in the championship so unproven,we have nolan to do his role,he would cost a bomb,,,

Also pederson has signed a new contract with blackburn so he wont sign,, cleverly unproven, ledley may cost 3million in compensation due to being young, BOYD I WOULD TAKE A CHANCE WITH.. along with petrov from city he is FREE.. NUFC

cracking player that will do well in the premiership but as sjt says he’s way out of our league – he’s got lovely front teeth you could get 50p through them – 2 x 20p & a 10p.

    keep smiling.

I dont really rate adam that highly, he lacks pace, and i dont think he will be a huge hit the premiership, dorrans will do better in my opinion.

What everyones thought for the line up for the world cup?

    Mine is:-

and also I still cannot believe newcastle arent chasing chris eagles, he would be a great addition to our squad, and is the right age aswell, and can play on either wing, and is available for 1.5m, looks like the mackems are gonna end up signing him
