Sky Sports is reporting today that CKSA Moscow have joined the race to sign Rangers free agent striker Kris Boyd.
Kris Boyd – CSKA interested
Turkish club Kayerispor are also in the race but according to Newcastle manager Chris Hughton, the Tynside club are not interested in signing the striker.
The Scotland international is out of contract at Ibrox at the end of the month, and is set to leave after four years, 192 appearances and 128 goals for the Scottish Champions.
Aston Villa and Middlesbrough are English clubs that may still be interested, but it would now appear that foreign clubs are probably the best option for Kris, with a number of Turkish clubs definitely interested in the Scottish International.
Sky Sports is reporting that CSKA travelled to Scotland this week to discuss terms with the player.
But Turkish club And Kayerispor, managed by former Rangers player Shota Arveladze, are confident they can land him.
Ggeneral Manager Suleyman Dates has told the Scottish Sun:
“Right now, our priority signing target is Kris Boyd. When you try to sign big players, it takes a great deal of time to get the right arrangements and then conclude the negotiations,”
“Often you have to work on negotiations for months.” “What I certainly can promise is we will begin the new season with a stronger team on the field than last season.”
And Chris Hughton has said today that it will be at least a couple of weeks before Newcastle bring in their first signing of the summer, but Chris remains confident he will add to the squad this summer.
