Newcastle Again Reported After Jimmy Bullard

Newcastle manager has said at least a couple of times power the last few weeks that Newcastle are simply not interested in Hull City’s Jimmy Bullard.

Jimmy Bullard – will he want to join Celtic?

But since there have been reports in the news that Newcastle are one of the clubs interested the news is being regurgitated and there’s another story today saying that either Celtic, Newcastle or West Ham will get him.

Of course Jimmy’s injury record is horrendous, certainly over the last three or four years, when he’s had two serious knee injuries which kept him out of the game for long periods.

But Hull must offload the player who is on around £50K/week at the Humberside club, because they will not be able to pay out those wages in the Championship.

Glasgow Celtic seem to have a genuine interest in the former Fulham midfielder, and his boyhood club West Ham United, now managed by Avram Grant, may have an interest – although we doubt that.

Neil Lennon is determined for the Glasgow club to assemble a squad of hard working and creative players – and Bullard is certainly one of those – although injury prone and now  past his best,  as he turns 32 in October.

Certainly in the SPL Jimmy could become a big star and of course will get the chance to play in the European Champions League, because the two club league always have Celtic and Rangers in that competition.

But we think Jimmy will want to stay in England’s Premier League and now he must wait to see if any English PL clubs are interested in the East Ham born player.

hughton has already stated that we are NOT interested in bullard, you can find better strikers than him out there for that sort of money anyway

Is Bullard a striker? I thought he played midfield!

Injuries aside he’s a good player but do we need another sicknote on the books at SJP?

@Mactoon: The physios have been complaining about lack of work since Viduka left so maybe we could get him in to pacify that lot.
