Newcastle United Second And Third Puma Strips Revealed

Newcastle United have released photos of their second and third strips for next season from Puma.

Newcastle United new back-up strips

The strips look fairly simple being all white and all blue and the goalkeeper jersey is a rather plain gray color – let us know what you think.

We have to think the new black and white striped will also be released shortly – maybe tomorrow – and we look forward to that.

We notice the strips are nothing like those that were all over the Internet a few weeks back – well that’s a surprise. 😀

Fabricio in new second strip

Roger Harrison, Marketing Director of Puma UK, said today:

“This new partnership will bring two icons of the game together, resulting in a new creative for shirt design and communication.”“From day one of the partnership, Newcastle United have developed a way of thinking that is very fan centric, and very exciting.”

“Across the next two years Puma is thrilled to be part of a way of thinking where the love of football is so important.”

Well, he’s right there.

Let us know what you think – comments are always very welcome.

PS – I has an Alzeimer moment earlier today and said they were Adidas strips – sorry about that – I may be losing it. 😀

I quite like the all white strip, Blue isn’t bad & the pattern on the goalies top is quite catching too, glad to see no black cats anywhere tho 🙂

Lets hope the home kit isn’t to boring, lets have a little bit of difference to the rest 🙂

Btw, talk about bad comunication, as this was released by Vital Football before it was by the Official Toon site :0 shocking :0

Well the blue kit matches, so it may well be Yorkie Dave 🙂

Though I had hoped it would be a little less boring & the badge should be under the puma cat & not to the side as it looks lopsided imo 🙁

I know it’s a B&W striped strip but they could have done something a little more interesting with the piping or design to be honest if that is the finished article 🙁

Concur Solaidback, that will be the home kit 100%. I wanted it to be edgy, well at least a little different. My worry is as Puma have only signed a 2 yr agreement they will try and give us another home kit for 2011/12. Although im sure there was a ruling made that home kits cannot be changed every season unless its sponsor or kit makers change.
But nothing surprises me, shabby effort tho on the home kit

still dont know why we gone with puma as usually worn wuite tight and it certainly wouldnt suit nolan with his gut. that said the new adidas kits seem pretty tight aswell. it seems to me that the fashion is tight shirts baggy pants. Tight shirts and us nufc fans aint a good match!

I am hoping they look better in the flesh than they do on the pictures. I am not convinced from the larger images on the offical site like.

One question – which strip would we wear against a team in blue and white stripes???

That said, I like them both – simple but effective. I definitely like the white best.

P.S. Ed, it says on the official website that the new home strip will be released in a few weeks.

Don’t mind the colours but the style is crap. What’s with the neckline – looks like some demented seamstress has attacked it with the pinking shears?

Bring back adidas, if this is the best Puma can do.

@NUFCLITE: If you don’t like Ed and his writing, bugger off back to Worky’s blog. This isn’t a competition between the two blogsites – it’s just another place for Toon fans to gather. Do one if you don’t like it.

On topic, the kits are slightly different. Seems the leaks were right but were mockups (notice the shiny material on the under arms – they weren’t there on the leaks or maybe they were and it’s more to do with the lighting, idk). Not keen on the embossed badge, but that aside I quite like them.

Loving the black training jersey, though.

Agreed, Petey. Not keen on that home shirt at all. Looks like the designer looked at the current strips and said “Right, first thing’s first – take the Adidas stripes off. What? Replace them? That might work… aye, in fact just cover them up with a big black stripe. Put our schizo neckline on and we’re in business!”.

At least they’ve taken the time to put no black cats on it though, and they’ve gone into our history for the blue kits… or maybe I’m giving them too much credit.

True blip, they do. The white one is growing on me but the blue i dunno.

its the home kit that worries me, that leaked one looks rubbish and they got the away kit right on that same site…

perhaps puma only released these because they are redesigning the home kit….one can only hope.

the home strip is a disaster.. We should make it look like the argentina one, although not light blue/white, but black/white. I do NOT like PUMA. We should go for adidas or nike. I want to design the kit!

I think the NUFC owners said to Puma look make it cheap as possible, even the badge is a print which they appear to have stuck on. It probably will have cost a couple of quid to make and then they are going to charge us £45 for it. Its a disgrace, especially if the home kit turns out to be exactly the same as last season’s one. There is nothing inventive or original in the designs.

I think the jerseys look nice. I prefer simpler look and the training gear looks absolutely awesome!

About the coming home jersey..here’s a pic to our local footyclubs TPS’s shirt. They also play with black and white and have a puma gear so maybe the new jersey looks bit like that -> http://tpsshop.luovia.fi/PublishedService?file=page&pageID=9&itemcode=570974-copy
